Exporting .ai files using Export for Screens includes clipped content from neighboring artboards
Sending in this bug report for my employer. When Export for Screens makes individual .ai files, it isn't isolating the artwork by artboard. It's also recognizing any cropped images from neighboring artboards that are touching the cropped images on the artboard being exported. Command Y (preview) shows the wireframes and how much stuff is overlapping.
She tested positioning the artboards far enough apart so none of the neighboring artboards' cropped images are overlapping in preview. This worked, and the ai files export perfectly clean. However, she needs the artboards to be close together for this particular workflow.

Yes, this would be a valid improvement.
I include this simple test file for everyone else to test. The second artboard is having a rectangle that touches the first artboard, but is clipped within the bound of the second artboards. If one tries to use Export for Screens with .ai format, the first file would have the clipping group included on canvas next to it (and the third one would not).For some odd reason Ai includes clipped contents in calculating the bounds if clip groups, and these get dragged into artboards that don’t need them. Strangely, Ai’s own Select > All on Active Artboard command treats the selection as expected, so it’s the collector’s flaw, not the inability to detect these.
