AI gave me a made up vector instead of a vector of my drawing
I tried to vector my drawing and the AI gave me a made up vector of it's own and charged me for a result I never asked for. I used a default prompt, following the tutorial example. The vector produced looked like a transformer type character. Any advice would be helpful.

It seems like you used Generate Vectors (Text to Vector) — in the first screenshot the Generate Vector panel is opened. This feature doesn’t take any reference, so it tried to base its guess on the description only, and it never contained a subject. You should have used Concept to Vector instead, which does work with the artwork input.

Oh example for the post was a guy... still not the vector I wanted.
