An error occurred while saving the comment Ton commented
My workaround does not seem to work anymore.
But I found another one:
Select the freeform gradient and choose Object > Group.
Apply the opacity mask to the group. An error occurred while saving the comment Ton commented
Just had the same experience.
Make mask and Uncheck "Clip" works as expected
Make Mask and first click "Invert Mask" makes the gradient disappear, and no combination of Clip and Invert Mask will get it back.Ton supported this idea ·

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.4.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

But another update: 25.2.3 fixed it.

Why is the prerelease version named the same as the shipping version: 25.2.2?

Just installed the prerelease 25.2.2.
Unfortunately nothing changed. The problem still exists with my example file (see in the comments below). An error occurred while saving the comment Ton commented
Another example. Note that also some text disappears when the circle is moved in 2021.

A related problem is that Illustrator does not embed the ICC profile that is used when exporting as PNG.
When placing a PNG, Illustrator ignores the profile (when there is one) and uses the current document RGB profile.

If tweaking the Preferences > User Interface > UI Scaling slider does not help to solve this problem, please make some screenshots or a short video of the problem, and post in a reply, along with your exact specs for the OS and the monitor used, for the team to try to reproduce it.
