The team has verified this current problem to be a regression break and intends to push the fix into the next Beta build.
An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Johan, the fact no major problem with this happened in 16 years doesn’t change the fact SVG is not native to Ai. It still imports and exports the format, rather than load and save. Ai TRIES to maintain the structure, but never GARANTUEES it. It’s not a policy, it’s a fact. Monika at forums is rather correct with this one, and the team confirms it.
This particular issue is indeed a bug — so thank you for being persistent here and at forums.
It is going to be fixed, but, again, don’t really rely on the matching. An error occurred while saving the comment Well, SVG is not native Illustrator format — AI is.
So on 'opening' SVGs are actually 'imported', that is translated. If you need to edit SVG without recreating their structure, you should use an editor that actually saves to SVG, rather than exports (which is what Ai actually doing). This sounds harsh, but that’s the reality, I am sorry. I very much doubt anything would change.
Anyway, thanks for not being silent about it. I will try to make the team aware. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Rubi, Ai has Pattern Options dedicated panel, which is in fact one of a few modal panels in Ai.
It allow to cycle through repeat options.
It allows to add and remove elements in a pattern module.
It allows side-by side preview, with parameters. Are you aware of it?
If yes, how does it fail to match your requests?Other things — well, these are more general and either are covered in separate requests (please upvote them), or need to be ones.
Please try to extend them and log as separate entries, with details and examples of how it can help your workflow. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Alas, can’t reproduce it on Windows, using the same exact steps and build number :/
All the names I manually set for all 5 duplicates remain in the Export for Screens dialog, when I call it, both ways available.
I can be a Mac-only issue, sure, but I had a somewhat related one, when renamed layers were changing names back to the previous ones!
Needs more testing and votes then.An error occurred while saving the comment Darya, how often does it happen?
Can you share the exact steps one can use to reproduce this on their computer? -

This functionality is now released and available from 29.1.0 release onwards.
An error occurred while saving the comment The current position of this command is wrong. It should be under Ungroup, not at the bottom of the section.
And please don’t make it nested! don’t introduce something like Ungroup > Once / All — don’t!
Yes, the menu is long, but it’s a different story (better fix scrolling in menus — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/40081633)An error occurred while saving the comment While the team seemingly does nothing to make this a thing, some workarounds are available for us:
— a paid Astute Graphics plugin VectorFirstAid, which have Completely Ungroup command, which also allows to deal with clip groups, https://astutegraphics.com/plugins/vectorfirstaid
— a free script ExtUngroup by Sergey Osokin (based ow a work by Jiwoong Song & John Wundes), https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Group.md#extungroup-v12 -

An error occurred while saving the comment Hans, why would you need this mode? What workflow requires it? How do you deal with it now?

An error occurred while saving the comment Chris, hi! It seems like UV blocked the attachments... It’s paranoid a bit.
Or do you mean you will post more, but don’t have them now?An error occurred while saving the comment O Captain! My Captain! The team would require to get a file like this to dissect, along with details on the PDF export settings, so that they can investigate it.
There are several related report about colors go magenta, and perhaps this is one of those cases.
If you are not OK to post it publicly (or it is hard to make a simpler test file), please send these to sharewithai@adobe.com (and put this link to this report there also for tracking: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/48855953) -

An error occurred while saving the comment That’s something I never experienced, even though had numerous crashes... The saddest thing is that making backups is hard (manual). Unless we go to a folder (which Ai won’t give a shortcut to) and backup a file, Ai won’t try to save this data, even though we have a profile, account, yada-yada. Ugh.
Kyle, no real advise here, I am sorry :(
I can share some link s about automated workspace backup, but I guess you are hardly in a mood to upvote anything.
I can add you as a voter in one, if you are not against it. -

Return greeking of vector graphics
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32403922An error occurred while saving the comment I’d add to that.
1 . Unlike in InD with it’s abstract 'Typical, Fast, High' I need to also see actual VALUES behind these. Something like 'Fast (18 ppi)' (the number is just a random one).
2. I think we might benefit from the ability to set it to a custom one, similar to Raster Effects’ Resolution
3. Perhaps we might need to link this both?
4. Obviously this value should NOT affect exported images. This is interesting, since Effects’ Resolution does... needs thinking
5. Definitely we need hotkeys slots for all, including the last used custom one.
6. Surely we need a hotkey slot to toggle two las used states
7. In InDesign the actual resolution is related to the image's actual resolution (there were some experimentations). Long story short — it hardly feels OK, so make this right.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tom, this is amazing how it’s safer for you to precisely click a button with a mouse,/pen instead of blind Ctrl+S combination :) People are so different! But I agree they should. Voted.

An error occurred while saving the comment There is a native way, but it’s not exactly the thing you might want — File > Close All. It should ask you if you want to save, and you can apply this choice for every document. But since there is no way to quickly open several recent document, unless you drag-n-drop or launch them from the Explorer/Finder...
Another way would be yo use a script (and scripts are great to cover the assortment of the various tasks we have, you should not underestimate these).
Check this thread at forums and pick the solution that works for you: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/save-all-command/m-p/8783487An error occurred while saving the comment Looks legit, thanks. Yeah, I see.
The problem happens exactly because of 'This file has been modified outside of Illustrator. Do you want to continue?' message. There is no way I know of to workaround it :/And UV does not allow to share .js / .jsx script files as attachment for security reasons.
An error occurred while saving the comment I get your point! But the danger of Save All is not it closes files (it shouldn’t), but because a user can accidentally use this instead of just save (the word 'All' is pretty small, and mis-clicks happen) — and won’t even know docs got saved. Then a crash — boom, unwanted changes get baked in, because Ai won’t restore saved docs.
So, when you are using the script — it’s quite a different operation, no way you can run it by chance, it is always intended (well, 99%, you can still launch a wrong script).
Tell me more about the problem with the focus when launching it though. It should not be that way if the script is written correctly.
An error occurred while saving the comment While 'yes', obviously, I can also add that this would be just as dangerous a command as Revert, and would definitely need solid confirmation. So, also — no hotkey by default, please.

An error occurred while saving the comment Ashli, interesting.
Most operations don’t really change art as much to make a difference in the overall look of the artwork, so this would be more like scrubbing a video...What do you have in mind? The whole artwork across all artboards and beyond them?
Only objects that have the changes? Only the cropped artboard that had the change? What if the change spanned across several artboards? Outside of any artboard? Are you familiar with snapshots in Photoshop, when you manually choose which state you want to save and return to after?
Does it fit your idea more, then having a thumbnail for every operation? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Scripts are indeed powerful. But changes are inevitable.
Scripts can be corrected to run with new versions.
You have to reach out to the author or fix them yourself.
If you want help with scripts — go to Adobe forums in the Scripting session and share you problem there, perhaps more experienced users can help.
If it’s a bug — come back with details, examples, test files, so the team can investigate it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Have no idea so far what can it be :(
I’d suggest to reinstall it (or update, pre-MAX Betas get updated fast), or try general build. Does this work?An error occurred while saving the comment Does removing this font from system help?

Not yet. The next public release is scheduled on November, but I know nothing about if the fix is going to make it there. As soon as I get any info on this, I will update the status.
