If you are still having problems with this, please provide a test file and a small video showing the exact workflow and the combination of options used. This would help to start investigation.

An error occurred while saving the comment Not in this menu, and it’s good it does not, because it would be so much slower than it is now :)
Use the Home screen the one you get when you hit the small House button in the top left corner — you will see all the preview there.
And please vote for this one more improvement about this one Recent if you find it useful:

An error occurred while saving the comment Huh, it happened again for me, but this time the order got flipped!
An error occurred while saving the comment I had this problem, and I had to rebuild my tool panels from scratch to stop this from happening.
I feel like it happens because the team made some changes to allow their new Getting Started tool panel to exist, with dividers and captions... can’t confirm this though, yet hopefully.
Andre, can you please share your 'Tools Panel Presets' file? -

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.
An error occurred while saving the comment Got it. Again, Ai won’t forcefully change OLD documents. Only new ones get affected.
An error occurred while saving the comment Haley, Chris, can you locate and check your document profile files, to see if they have the hyphenate option enabled by default?
Have you ever modified any of these manually?
What versions are you using? An error occurred while saving the comment K-O, did I? There are many mods here. Perhaps I did, but I see no traces of it and can’t remember I asked something like this. Whatever. I read all the comments here, and this is not why I replied, but because I had the news.
And it only now struck me my last name is similar to another name. Nope, it does not have R in it, but that made me smile :)
An error occurred while saving the comment This is pretty new, Paul, and this is something the UserVoice added. It will definitely help to define the need. But I think this one is pretty well defined already, right? So hit it anyway!
As far as I know (but that's everything I know on this) — it's finally being discussed internally. Yes, after the years. Yes, the backlog is that long :(
Good news is the team wants to compete more of these small but extremely annoying things. We have to many of these here. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Wing Pai, select any text object in the document and check the Attributes panel.
All of these have Overprint Fill option enabled. InDesign enables it automatically for black, but it doesn’t automatically gets disabled when you change the color from black to white in Illustrator — it’s something you should control yourself. Ai should warn you every time you try to enable this option manually, but won’t warn when a color gets changed (this is actually an interesting thing to think of — thanks). Please uncheck the option and comment back if it solves the problem at your side.
Strange. I check this (on Windows 11 though) and it behaves as usual for me...
