I'd like to attach you the file that demonstrates this even better, how can I do that?

I understand what you mean, I should have explained myself better:
- Create a textfield, add an object (doesn't matter what) on top of it.
- Select the textfield first
- Now try to select the object on top of the textfield. It can't be done
- Illustrator 2017: You can select the object on top
- Illustrator 2018: You have to first de-select the textframe to be able to select any object on top. This behavior in AI 2018 is inconsistent. Because..
- Create a rectangle
- Create a second rectangle on top of it, completely confined within the first.
- Select the first rectangle.
- Now try to select the second rectangle on top of it.
- You can perfectly select this second rectangle.Robin shared this idea ·

The input fields do not seem to handle comma correctly, and only use the point-separated decimal.

It is not as straightforward as it may sound :) We have been working to take advantage of threads and other hardware such as GPU/Video RAM in places where it can make a higher impact. We are prioritizing areas that are slow instead of making a generic change and destabilizing the product. Product stability is the top priority for us and we have been consistently trying to improve it. We want to move with caution and make changes without compromising on the quality. Hope this helps.

I'm going to have to agree...
On a 8 core system it will consume on full load 12.5% (one core) and be sluggish. On our 16-CPU render pc, it will use around 7% CPU (and be under full load) and be sluggish..

Background:
- CC libraries does not have support for Global Process Colors
- Some users have spoken about InDesign – InDesign does not support Global Process colors
- Illustrator does support process colors , global process colors and spot colors. The issue is specefic to global process colors – since it is not supported in CC Libraries. We have added the request to support in CC libraries backlog,
Workaround:
- Create Process colors in Illustrator and add it to CC libraries – deselect the global checkbox

Exactly the same issue here.
Also see it with my colleagues on their Illustrator CC (2018)

I have the exact same issue.
Here's the video I made an posted to the forums:

- Select the textfield
- Now try to select the rectangle on top. It's not possible.
If you do the same with rectangles, circles, embedded objects, whatever, it works fine.
