Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hyphenation is good for justified text to prevent rivers of word spaces up and down the columns, but for aligned left copy it should not be the default as one uses align left to avoid having this problem. I second non-hyphenation as the default. One can turn on hyphenation to break lines for aesthetic reasons.

Hi friends! I have some great news for your today. Rotate View (Canvas) feature is available in Illustrator 25.3 (Desktop) now. Thank you all for your feedback which helped us shape up this feature.

An error occurred while saving the comment A keyboard shortcut to rotate canvas every 30 degrees would be a bonus feature. Clip Studio Paint has something like it.

We have passed this request along to Grammarly and that while Grammarly thought it would be useful, they’re unable to prioritize it at this time.

This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Color Model selection for JPG is available in Export For Screens -> Advanced settings. Illustrator will allow you to choose - RGB, CMYK or Grayscale color model.

An error occurred while saving the comment I grew up on Aldus/Macromedia Freehand from v2.0 and miss its ability to clip off an image with areas outside the clipping path being rendered invisible and unselectable. This missing feature in Illustrator makes selection a pain and one has to search in the layers panel to find the right object in complex multiple-layered artworks.

Steve Jobs set the standard for typography in computing. Adobe did well but hyphenation as default is so last millennium. At last they have awakened and the graphic design world is at peace...
