can you confirm that your color settings are synced in Adobe Bridge?
Are the files in question raster images placed into an open illustrator document, or an existing illustrator document with placed raster images?
Do all the colors become over-saturated, raster images and vector graphics both?

An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedJennifer,
What kind of message (if any) is shown by illustrator when you drag+drop the *.ai file into the illustrator interface? Is a different message (if any) received when you use file > open to try opening the same file?
It looks like your operating system file associations are wacky. See where it says "Opens with" and following that "Pick an app" ? Indication is that Windows doesn't know which program/application the file belongs to.
I don't recall offhand how to correct that without reinstalling the software, but I know we've had that issue here at my work regarding EPS files before, and it was fixed without uninstall/reinstall.

Most probably it happens because of the Align to Pixel Grid option switched on, as per comments. Try to disable it and see if it changes anything.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedFrancesca,
You have Align to Pixel Grid switched on. See the attached screenshot of your video.
Click that off and try again, you may have better luck.
A word of caution though, sometimes Illustrator's 'smart' guides and snapping don't work as well as we'd like so you may still struggle a little bit.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedI don't know what the deal is with this document specifically, but freeform gradients work fine w/o crashing, on a new document on my system.
The document you've shared has 235,831 path objects.
235,766 of those are guides (see screenshot)This document as-is bogs my illustrator down pretty heavily. After clearing all guides I have no issues.
Also have no issues applying a freeform gradient to the lower-right sword handle. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedThat's because the brush in illustrator creates a stroked path. The size is set with the stroke width. You can set the stroke width before you draw a stroked path with the brush.
This is how the brush tool has always functioned in Illustrator.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedWhen you say it's not easy for the printer to process fractional CMYK color data, what do you mean? An office printer, a roll fed proof printer of some kind with its own internal RIP, or are you sending to a standalone RIP like Caldera or Onyx?

An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedDo you mean this dialog window? I'm not sure what you mean by 'new swatch creation panel'.
Overprint is an object level attribute, not an attribute of color.

Lance supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedI can replicate this bug. It behaves a little better when it's set to "Preserve exact dash gap lengths" rather than "Align dashes to corners and path ends...." (see screenshot)
The little "tail" glitch goes away when adjusting corner radii with the corner radius widgets -

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

As per the comment:
Illustrator allows to access dimensions of an object as well as dimensions of a live shape. In case when a shape is rotated by 90° the shape’s size values can look swapped compared to measured sizes. It’s like tilting a head. See attached images inside for clarifications.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lance commentedCDJ,
Your rectangle shape appears to be rotated 90°. I can replicate this behavior by drawing a rectangle and then rotating it. The length & width measurements in the rectangle shape's properties report the same length and width even after being rotated. The object's H and W measurements in the same toolbar show the updated H x W values after rotation. See the screenshots I've uploaded.
Vika,
Start with these screenshots:
In Adobe Bridge, Edit > Color Settings
Make sure something appropriate is selected. There are various settings that are general suggestions for various regions of the world. You can customize your settings specific to your workflow/production environment if none of the presets are appropriate. This dialog will also tell you whether color settings are synchronized or not.
Once that's set, check the color settings in Illustrator via Edit > Color Settings
Make sure it says color settings are synchronized. It's also probably a good idea to check other Adobe CC applications you use such as photoshop and/or InDesign, etc. to make sure the settings are synchronized. If settings are already synchronized correctly before you change anything in Bridge, then your Adobe CC color settings are probably not likely to be the issue.
In that case it may be the settings for whether to warn the user of profile mismatches in the illustrator color settings dialog. It's sometimes best if you're regularly working with other people's files (though also sometimes very very annoying) to have all those checkboxes selected because It'll warn you anytime a color profile is missing, or doesn't match your working space.
Each warning dialog will ask what you want to do in those cases - assign a profile, leave it alone (don't color manage the document), etc.
