This problem was posted here a few years ago and it looks like someone pinpointed the issue as having to do with linked images specifically. I'm testing this now.
An error occurred while saving the comment Marc commented
Images without alpha work consistently, but I regularly run into this issue with alpha images (tested PNGs and PSDs), and 1-bit BMPs. I am working with images sized around 200px on my artboard.
An error occurred while saving the comment Marc commented
Upon further testing it appears that this is also true of PSDs, so it could be that it's a glitch with any image with alpha/transparency. I would also like to note that it doesn't seem to happen right away. It is when there are multiple files like this in one document.

Revisiting this as it's still an issue 4 years on.

Sorry I meant to post in feature requests, but this could be seen as a bug by some. Particularly the offset zooming.
An error occurred while saving the comment Marc commented
Please please include an option for the Rotate View Tool to translate the arrow keys, and anything else that might be effected to be relative to the current view.
For example, currently with rotation set to 180 degrees, if you use arrow keys to move an object left, you have to press the right arrow key. Please allow us to work intuitively, relative the rotated view. IMO this should actually be the default as it seems to be the expected behavior. Thanks!

Just another vote to make this change. Scrubby zoom is another thing affected by rotation. It does not zoom to the point where you begin the scrub. This in addition to the arrow keys and other things folks have mentioned below. Three years wait so far on this one? Egor, your point about Adobe taking too long to respond to requests is proven once again.

I love the new option to rotate the artboard. It is especially useful when working on dielines with panels that are facing different directions.
Currently when using arrow keys for nudging an object, the directions remain relative to the unrotated artboard. Meaning if you rotate an artboard 180 degrees, the up arrow moves an object down on the screen and vice versa.
It would be useful to be able to set the arrow keys to work relative to the monitor and not the artboard. That way if it is necessary to turn the artboard 90 degrees, the left arrow would still move the object to the left relative to the monitor rather than moving that object "down".

This is not a resolved issue by any means. Weird that it's marked that way.

The fix is expected to land in the next Beta build. These messages should and hopefully will be displayed once only.

Not fixed. A grey popup appears constantly whenever I am ungrouping things to tell me about ungrouping. Nothing in preferences makes this go away and I see it repeatedly so closing it once doesn't work either. I really don't need training wheels and this should be one simple option to disable all large tooltips, blue popups and gray popups. There are already enough idiosyncrasies and distractions with Illustrator.

Bravo Catalyst Creative and Henri! Nice to see the Adobe user community come together and workaround Adobe's carelessness together.

Please fix in the primary release. We don't use beta and changing the font every single time is unacceptable. This would be an annoyance if we didn't pay so much for the software. In this case it is unacceptable.

I also want to note that I am grateful for the help here. Looking at you Egor! I am not mad, just frustrated. Apologies if the tone comes across coarse. It's just that these things ultimately have an effect on income and work life balance.

Came here to whine about this. I simply want to add my swatch group or at least all of the swatches in that group to a library so I can use them in Fresco. There is nothing intuitive about this. Eventually I found that clicking on individual objects with that fill color and choosing the plus > add fill, one at a time is what works.
What I want to do is drag and drop the color group from the swatches panel, or have the option of doing this from the plus menu, or have an option to add selected swatches to a library in the swatch panel flyout itself. All of these methods should work IMO. I want it to add multiple swatches at once, not one at a time. Another way it should work is to select shapes with those colors and have the option of adding that as a graphic (which is the only currently available option) OR add the swatches - just like clicking the color group icon when you have art selected.
When I try to add the color group from the swatches panel disk icon, it says there is a minimum of 1 swatch and a maximum of 5. Why? That is such an arbitrary restriction that I'm assuming has something to do with sharing on adobe color? I truly don't care about social media-fication of strict five color palettes. Just want to work in the software I pay an arm and a leg for.
I am able to add them one at a time so why not 12 at a time? These kinds of speed bumps to my work flow are why I have avoided using cloud libraries like the plague since they were introduced.
Am I missing something? It's possible, but these features should be intuitive to the way other software works. Now I am here complaining instead of getting work done. Thank you for listening.

Apologies, Egor. I work under NDAs and cannot share.

I cannot share my file but this exact thing happened to me. The recovery setting is set to save every 2 minutes, but when Illustrator crashed (while saving!) my "recovered" file was just my save from 45 minutes ago. I dug into my recovery folder and opened anything from the last half hour. Nothing was saved. This is about as aggravating as it gets.

Apologies for the repeated requests! And thank you for the responses and moderation. I don't mind you adding these at all. Looking forward to trying the new gradient swatch feature.

Yes it appears that embedding the file solves the issue. So the bug is that when a certain number of images with alpha (PSD, PNG, BMP tested) are LINKED in a file they can become unselectable except by their edges or by selecting with marquee tool.
