An error occurred while saving the comment Jens Ulrich Kriebeler commentedMove view (<h> key) and rotate view (<shift><H> key) should also be operable with the arrow keys when one of these keys is pressed. This is how it works when moving objects.
This would be helpful for people with disabilities and users of graphics tablets, who can then place the keys on the graphics tablet keys. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Jens Ulrich Kriebeler commentedI found out that combined diacritical characters are only displayed if there is a TAB, CR or FF in front of the character. Also, for many of the characters that are in the Unicode block U+0300 to U+036F, there are alternative separate characters. Unfortunately, Illustrator does not display these.
Therefore, I have now written a small Javscript that bypasses the problem. See https://www.behance.net/gallery/124447049/Javascript-for-Illustrator-ShowAnyGlyphs

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.4.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!
An error occurred while saving the comment Jens Ulrich Kriebeler commentedWith Adobe Illustrator CC 2021 (25.4.0) under macOS 10.14.6 and macOS 11.4, it seems that you can no longer type a small ö or ü (regardless of the font), the letters simply do not appear. Can anyone else confirm this? This is not a problem in older versions of AI.
Emergency solution: The <¨> <u> keys result in an ü, where <¨> = <alt><u>. It's the same with ö.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jens Ulrich Kriebeler commentedIn the meantime, I have programmed my own solution in Javascript. The script is free of charge. More information on my Behance account: https://www.behance.net/gallery/123822365/Javascript-for-Illustrator-Font-Outline-with-Names
Keep drawing!

Illustrator allows this today with Shape Builder tool.
You need to hold Opt/Alt and either click or brush through the excessive portion of the path, and Ai will trim it to the next intersection or between intersections. Works with selected objects only.
The precision of the tool is limited and bound to internal grid of the document. There is a bug report about this you might want to upvote.
