  1. Add an option to measure gaps between objects in Objects on Path by their bounds, not between centers

    Objects on Path needs more options and in its current setup is very limited in its usefulness. This tool feels like it's still in beta. Whilst it's good at doing the one thing it's designed to do, it's missing a lot of useful capabilities.

    If the objects are different sizes it doesn't space them evenly. Spacing currently is determined only by the center points of the objects rather than its bounding box. At least make it an option.

  2. Support wildcard characters in Find & Replace

    My only wish for the text Find & Replace would be able to use wildcard characters. That was such a great option in the TexEdit (not TextEdit) word processor and I have yet to find something similar for the Mac.

  3. Do not select both the clipping mask and the clipped contents with Select All while in isolation

    When we isolate a clipping group, it’s like we are jumping in a whole in a canvas and start dealing with what’s behind it. Whatever we move while inside isolated, would be visible through the hole.

    So when we say Select All while being isolated, we usually don’t mean 'Select the stuff behind the hole and the hole itself' — it’s about clipped content only. Otherwise why isolate in the first place?

  4. Escape should cancel an execution of a script / plugin

    If we run a script or a plugin operation and the execution of it takes a long time, there is no real way to abort it other than killing the whole Ai process completely (since there is no dedicated one). This can loose us data, and saving each time before running a script or a plugin is paranoid and is hardly a solution.

    We need to be able to hit Escape when a script or a plugin makes Ai freeze and expect for it to be stopped, perhaps with a confirmation.

  5. Allow to show contents (unfurl) of compound paths in Layers

    Illustrator treats a compound path as a single entity, no matter how many singular paths it has inside.

    Layers panel does not display '>' next to the name of it, and does not allow to unfurl the item to see what it has inside.

    It makes sense in a way, since the order of items does not matter (it is for a Compound Shapes, where it matters a lot, with e.g. 'Minus Front').

    At the same time, we can still select a subpath of a compound path with the Group Selection tool, and use Object > Arrange commands (even though…

  6. Free Transform Tool - Free Perspective & Free Distort should be there own tools with short cut.

    Free Perspective & Free Distort should be there own tools with shortcuts (or that we can make custom shortcuts for), or a way to quickly filter through by hitting a key to get to the option needed (ie you hit E to bring up free transform, then hit E to select alt options like Free Perspective & Free Distort) having to scroll over to a tiny panel to select which I want to use is time that could be saved. I know the panel floats, but having to open Free Transform then move the panel near what I need, then…

  8. More fields to Smart Guides angles

    Have you ever required to customize Illustrator more, well, this is a feature that is here a long time ago and it would be nice to have more options: In Preferences > Smart Guides, we should have more options to add custom angles, since six fields are falling short. Is this doable?

  9. Add an option to open the folder with exported images that stays for some time on scree

    I think it would be great if we could see a "View on Computer" or "Go to Folder" option on the screen, floating in the middle of nearly 5-7 seconds. So if we have to use it immediately we can go there with no effort... I'm writing it for Asset Export but I think this feature should be it for any save and export option on every Adobe software.

  10. Center Align Area Type

    The area type justification settings aren't working. If there is a text box with more than one line of text, it will not justify properly. There are no extra settings for the text boxes - ie. padding, and I tried making new area type text boxes as well.

  11. Make Revert operation into a History step we can undo

    Shielding Revert this with a confirmation does NOT work.
    Having confirmations is a bad UX solution, and it’s known now — it seems like only Adobe is not aware.
    People don’t read these, and either learn to not notice these or to skip these.

    What apps should do instead is to allow a mistake, but then giving a chance to Undo it.
    Like modern email clients now do — you can undo sending an email, because there is a hidden delay.

    Photoshop does NOT have a confirmation, but it allows us to UNDO the Revert, unlike other apps.

  12. 【寸法ツール】オプション設定内への要望

    Illustratorで簡易図面を描く事が多い為、Beta版で追加された「寸法ツール」はとても便利な機能となるはずなのですが、現状では重要な機能が足りておらず図面という用途では使用できません。

    【要望1】「先端位置」の選択が寸法ツールオプション内で出来るようにして下さい。

    現状では矢印のスタイルで「●（矢印21）」などを使用した際に、寸法補助線に対して線の芯に「●」の中心が配置されず、2本の寸法補助線の内側に収まる形で表示されてしまいます。

    【要望2】単位選択時に、「単位自体は表示させない」というチェック項目を付けてください。

    通常長さの寸法を入れる図面では、1つ1つの寸法線に単位は記載しません。数字だけを記載します。
    単位（㎜を使用するのかcmを使用するのかpxを使用するのか等）はアートボード全体で統一する為、1つ1つの寸法線に記載せず、1つのアートボードに対して「寸法の単位は㎜です」等を1カ所に記載する場合の方が多いです。
    ※ただし、直径（φ）・半径（R）・角度（°）の記号に関しては常時表示が必要です。

    【要望3】寸法線に対する数字の位置改善を希望します。

    寸法線の数字は縦線に対して線の左横、横線に対して線の上に配置されるのが望ましいです。改善、または選択可能にしてください。

    以上3点の機能改善を期待しています。

    As per the comment inside, an ability to hide units for dimension objects is introduced in AI Beta build 28.3.0.47.

    No more news so far on other parts of the request.

    Speaking of which — if possible, please try to report/request one entry per post, to better track all the feedback. Thanks you for your participation.

  13. Ferramenta parametrica para a manipulação de vetories com nodes não destrutiva

    Acho que o illustrator deveria ter ferramentas de manipulação de vetories e objetos mais profunda. Utilizo softwares como autodesk maia, autodesk 3ds max, blender e houdini no pontualmente em minhas criações e eles tem uma abordagem muito interessante de manipulação 3d de vetores bem complexa.

    Além de que, o Illustrator é uma ferramenta muito utilizada por profissionais de branding para criações de logo, ou seja, exige que a forma criada seja o mais unica possível. Uma ferramenta paramentrica, por exemplo, que fizesse modificações como transformações em um objeto através de nodes complexos seria muito interessante.

  14. Allow dimensions to be editable

    It would be nice if the dimensions and lines were editable.
    I generally build to scale because the dimensions of my projects to size are too big for the artboards and contain several larger elements. Having to enlarge each piece in order to get the proper measurements is time consuming and inconvenient. Being able to edit those would make things much easier. I have a script that can do it, but the tool would be better.

    Latest builds of Illustrator allow to edit most of created dimensions using Properties and Control panels.

    The tool dialog sets options for new dimensions only and does not have a button to apply the set options to selected or all dimensions on canvas. If you wish to have a button like this in the dialog, please upvote this request.

    If you have other weak points to point out — please comment or make a new request / report.

  15. Dedicated Persian Language Engine for Illustrator

    Persian-speaking users form a large and growing part of Illustrator’s user base. However, Persian text support still relies on the Arabic engine, which leads to issues in text rendering, alignment, and typography.
    Persian has unique typographic rules that differ from Arabic, and a dedicated engine is essential for proper layout and display.
    We request the development of a Persian-specific text engine to improve support and usability for millions of Persian-language users. I’m happy to provide examples if needed.

    Please increase the maximum number of recent files from 30 to 50 or 100 like Photoshop (both in Home Screen and File > Recent).

  17. Allow to Move All objects and adjust their Spacing from both ends in Objects on Path

    Objects on Path construct has several on-canvas widgets, allowing us to quickly eyeball some parameters interactively.

    One of these is the starting position of the array along the path.
    If the length of the array is shorter then the path, we can grab the rhombus marker and move all the objects together along, keeping the gaps.

    Another one is Space widget, which is located above the construct.
    We can grab and make all the gaps shorter or longer at once.

    For some reason both treat the array as directional.

    We need an ability to be able to move the array…

  18. An option to Remove Share Button completely

    Glad you can take the blue color off the Share button (based on this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44391642)
    Would LOVE to have the option of taking the share button off altogether.

  20. Zoom on text in panels and dialogs, for better accessibility

    Give us the ability to zoom in on text in all panels and dialogs. People have dyslexia, meres-irhlen syndrome and even just bad eyesight. Nobody wants to have their face two inches away from their screen just so they can see what they’re reading. This would have the added benefit of making presentations in a classroom setting more easy and thus, would make more people interested in subscribing to the software.
