1. I would love to see a "temporary canvas" or "temporary file" feature added to illustrator

   I often find myself creating temporary documents that I end up deleting after doing whatever I need to do in Illustrator before bringing over to InDesign or some other application. It'd be so nice to start a "Quick Canvas" or something that has the full functionality of Illustrator, but it instead acts as a notepad that can either auto-save to the cloud or just delete itself after using.

2. Allow to use point-specific controls and functions when all points of a path are selected

   There is a limitation in Adobe Illustrator with aligning anchor points.
   When using the Direct Selection tool to highlight anchor points on a path the options to align anchor points disappears in the Align palette if all points on a path are selected.
   That can be a problem if I'm trying to align two points on a simple two point path. I either have to add additional points or manually align the path using smart guides. It would be really nice if one anchor point could have key object like behavior and stay locked in place. Certain rival vector graphics applications make it pretty easy to align anchor points in this kind of controlled manner.

3. Option to have AI prompt me instead of me promptng AI

   A feature set we need is for Adobe to allow natural language descriptions for automating process steps and allow AI to suggest alternative methods or workflow where possible and allow training-on-the-fly for how-to steps based upon stylistic and other choices I make when prompted with options by AI iteratively.
   This would bring the power of AI to a “train me, don’t show me” type of assistance where AI suggests steps, tools, and options that I might use to create the effects or results I am envisioning. One great beauty in this is that I am learning how to do things myself in Adobe products, including spanning apps in a workflow process. Thus, I will not become hobbled over time as AI takes over tasks, and instead of me prompting AI, it prompts me (with suggestions of steps for how to get something done).
   I would also like the ability to narrow the scope of options stylistically or otherwise, and to preview the how-to steps in a walk-through tutorial of sorts where I might even use production art from a real project of mine.

   An example of my input to a feature set like that might be in phrasing such as, "In a neo-Byzantine style which is modified to depict healing energy exchanges in bas-relief, create a series of stylistically and thematically consistent vector images to be included in a video segment that shows imminent and already occurring moments of spiritual transformation inside a singularity sphere with 6 Einstein-Rosen Bridges having their bipolar event horizons mapped equidistantly on the sphere's surface, and those bridges intersecting at the center of the sphere, instantiating a singularity of healing love radiating out of each end of all the bridges as the sphere spins on alternating axes like a multidimensional pulsar of love and grace"

5. Add ability to sort or reorder Objects on Path

   Love the align to path tool. It has made things so much easier.

   One suggestion, however, would be to rearrange the order of elements you aligned. Ideally, you would allow us to sort elements and give certain properties like HUE, Transparency, Size, Rotation, and then we could easily make things like fading shapes to signify movement or just by size where the bigger things were aligned at the end.

   You could even make a series of tools like the Symbol Sprayer tools that let you manipulate the pieces on the path by spreading in areas and shrinking areas. Resizing or orienting individual shapes.

   Also, when expanding the Align to Path objects, don't expand symbols. (I'll add another ticket for that)

6. Make Split into Grid to create warped grids based on shape if needed

   Split to Grid should learn how to split into more than just squares. Look at your Mesh tool, it obviously knows how to split different shapes, just move that code to the split tool would make it about 329983% more useful.

7. Allow to include gradients and patterns in Swatch Info objects

   These ARE swatches, after all.
   If we have these selected, we expect to have cards for these. The cards for these can state which colors were used in them.

8. Don’t force creating a dedicated layer for Swatch Info objects

   When we create a Swatch Info object, a new layer named 'Swatch Info Layer' gets created automatically. I don’t need it. I want to be able to choose if I need this layer, and what name it should use. My layer structure is something I prefer to have control over, and the way Ai thinks I need to have a singular group this creates in a separate layer is insulting.

   Same goes for Dimensions — why do you think I mustn’t choose the layer’s name?

   Ai no longer forces a new layer to keep Swatch Info, but uses live groups instead

9. Add Preview option when creating a Swatch Info object

   When we create a Swatch Info object, using a dedicated command from the Swatches panel’s menu, the dialog is missing Preview option we can enable and see how the parameters work in real-time.

10. Switch symbol shortcut

    I would love to have a way to quickly switch symbols with a shortcut (maybe using the keyboard numbers where each symbol corresponds to one symbol).
    I have a job where I have to manually insert many symbols of different sizes, and without a shortcut it takes much time.

11. Make Create Gradient from swatches command to respect the order of selection

    Recently Illustrator added a dedicated command to create a gradient form selected swatches, following this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/38592196

    While the function works, there is no way to create a gradient respecting the selection order of swatches — the gradient will always use their order in the panel. I wish it worked! If we need the direct order of swatches, we’d just selected like this.

12. Allow to copy the area value from the Info panel

    Why can we copy a HEX color from the Color panel, but can’t copy the area of it (or any other value as well)?

    In some cases we need to get the value to share with someone, and now Ai wants us to retype it.

    Sometimes we also need these to be placed on canvas — but I think it’s a job for the Dimension tool? Why Measure and Dimension are different tools in the first place?

13. Type > Text wrap > Make / Release / options

    I constantly expect Text Wrap to be in the Type menu instead of the Object menu. Can it show up there?

    You don't have to move it from the Object menu, I'm fine with there being two ways to get to it.

14. Type Automation/Modulation Tool

    A automation/modulation tool allows type to be edited based off different parameters. (ex. typewriter function that allows more ink bleed onto random letters on a body of type). Similar to music production automation/modulation in that there would be values from 0-100 and then those settings could have a parameters (ex. setting the bounds of the automation from value of 80-100 and then having the ability to randomize that automation between those values). The highlighted text that needs automation/modulation would have a separate window with a linear grid to adjust each individual character and a drop down menu of what parameter is being affected. Then using a specific pen tool you would be able to draw in the value for each character or pick a value set and a percentage of how much modulation is wanted. Each character of text could then be adjusted for fine tuning. Example attached is from logic pro. The other example is a piece of text from a type writer to show the subtle differences of each character typed to give a body of work more of a human like touch. This could be streamlined for all adobe products with text

    Project Turntable - This option is not available even on the latest version of illlustrator 29.3.1 and the latest illustrator beta 29.4.73. How can this be activated in my account? This would really help fast track the projects I'm currently working on

16. Preview Only Text Features

    Can we get additional features to handle Preview Only Text?

    • A Highlight Preview Only text feature similar to the Highlight Substituted Fonts Preference?

    Illustrator 2025 is now using embedded fonts instead of demanding they be substituted. You can not add text or paste it into a different document however you can adjust the tracking and the scale. When you paste it into a new document it just defaults and goes missing. This can be a major problem if unnoticed by an operator. This is a love / hate feature that I would love no matter what if it just had some additional features/options.

17. Issue with Saving Group Hierarchy in SVG Export

    I am experiencing an issue where the group hierarchy is not being preserved when exporting or saving files in SVG format. No matter which variant I try, the user-defined hierarchy from the original file is lost in the SVG output.

    Attached is a screenshot comparing the results of exports from different versions of the software, highlighting the issue. Despite trying multiple approaches, I have not found a way to save the groups as they appear in the original file.

18. Bring back Duplicate button in the Contextual Task Bar

    It would be very useful to bring back the repeat / duplicate icon in the Contextual Task Bar -- specifically when selecting shapes. Illustrator 2024 had this feature when a shape was selected. The 2025 update removed this feature.

    Please bring this back, or allow users to customize the Conceptual Task Bar in the settings.

19. Support architectural standards for arrow styles for Dimension tool

    When the arrow style #21 is written on a drawing, it is marked inside the dimension extension line. International architectural drawing standards require that the mark be placed at the intersection of the extension line and the dimension line. Please improve this.

20. The box selection increases the selected items within the box selection, leaving the others unselected

    Adobe Illustrator 2025 Currently, I want to box the font, and there is a border below. I select the box, and the border below is also selected. However, I don't want to lock it. I hope to increase the selection of the selected box and leave the others unselected
