1. Alias/map similar colors to a proper swatch via an Ink Manager similar to InDesign

   The header pretty much describes it. Sometimes links don't have properly named spot colors or such and instead of spending time editing those links it would be easier to add the proper swatch in AI and then "map" the link colors to that color.

2. Allow to detach Variable Stroke Width profiles dropdown as a separate panel

   A fly-out panel would be good for VSW profiles, same as in this request for arrowheads: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/50777822

   When there are a lot of profiles, selecting them from a dropdown menu is hard.

3. Highlight the current color in Recent Colors section, just as in Swatches

   I love Recent Colors. Can you please make it so that selecting an object highlights its color in the Recent Colors section, the same way it does in Swatch Tiles?

4. Scale Strokes Only

   When Scaling numerically, the have choice whether to scale Strokes (and) effects as well.

   What I am looking for, is a way to scale stroke widths, without scaling the objects. In that way, it is easy to change several stroke widths, while keeping the ratio between the stroke widths. (I know the work around, to scale back the objects without scaling the strokes - but that comes with some risks and limitations)

7. Add 'resource size' to the 'prefix' option in 'export multiple formats'

   This prefix is very useful when exporting "multiple resources" and can improve work efficiency.
   In addition, it is recommended that the current prefix naming method be separated from the file name using "prefix -" or "prefix _".

9. 'Reveal in finder' right-click images

   Can basic image functions please get added to right-click menus. Both when right-clicking images, and when right-clicking images in the Links panel...

   • Re-link image
   • Update link
   • Link File Info...
   • Embed/Unembed image
   • Reveal in Finder
   • Reveal in Bridge
   • Edit in Photoshop

   I also made a single “Full Image & Link Overhaul” request that pulled all the smaller image issues together, but it seems to have been deleted. Can an admin explain why?

    Description:
    In previous versions of Illustrator, when working with sentences containing both English and Chinese text, the Eyedropper tool worked correctly:

    If I applied a new font with Eyedropper, only the English letters would switch to the sampled font.

    The Chinese characters would remain in their original font, preventing missing glyphs or “tofu” boxes.

    After the recent update, this behavior has changed:

    When I select the entire sentence and use Eyedropper, Illustrator now forces the entire string (including Chinese) into the sampled font.

    Since the sampled font usually does not support Chinese characters, all Chinese text turns into blank squares/garbled characters.

    This change breaks the previous workflow and causes major problems for designers working with multilingual text (especially in Asia).

    Request:
    Please restore the previous Eyedropper behavior, or at least provide an option such as “Apply only to supported characters” so that unsupported glyphs (like Chinese) will remain in their original font.

    This functionality is critical for mixed Chinese-English typography, and removing it significantly reduces efficiency.

12. Summer improvments

    • Eyedropper for text (ref. InDesign)
    • Instant resize at artboards bounds for clipping masks
    • Instant adaptive fit to bounds for images inside clipping masks (ref. InDesign)
    • Find and replace tool with live selection of contents with window open
    • A shortcut for Trim View (tried to customize but it doesn't work)
    • A better way to concatenate text frames (always requires more attempts)
    • Fix the copy/paste text issue with Whatsapp desktop (if try to paste text in a conversation you have the image of it)
    • Option to increase values with right button of mouse or digital pen

13. Jump to art-board and word being spell checked.

    Please add the option to jump to art-board being spell checked please.

    I often use up to 50 x A4 art-boards with abbreviations and technical text that I need to closely spell check in context within its paragraph. I can't even see which art-board is being checked when using multiple art-boards, as it is.
    Jumping to art-board would make work so much easier. Please add this option.

14. Create a contour on Swatch Info card

    It would be great if we can select a contour colour inside the Create Swatch Info setting dialog. Sometimes is it necessary to apply the info to the white colour and if you place in a white background canvas you must expand the aspect and than add the contour color.

    Illustrator uses raster-based Feather and Gaussian Blur, and — let’s admit it — we need them better: resolution-independent, infinitely scalable.

16. Add Next / Previous buttons in Layer Options dialog

    Sometimes I need to change several colors for a bunch of layers.
    To do this, I have to double-click one in Layers, pick a color, close the dialog, double-click the next one... why exiting the dialog at all? I should be able to cycle them directly within it.

    Illustrator has Transform Again command (and it’s rather useful), but InDesign has three additional commands:

    1. Transform Again Individually:
       Applies the last single transform operation to each selected object individually, rather than as a group.

    2. Transform Sequence Again:
       Applies the last sequence of transform operations to the selection.

    3. Transform Sequence Again Individually:
       Applies the last sequence of transform operations to each selected object individually.

    Sure, we have Transform Each as a workaround, but it doesn’t support custom pivots as tools do, and these are just faster.

18. Smart guides disappear when I switch to the eyedropper tool

    I have had issues in the 2026 version of illustrator. The smart guides disappear when I choose the eyedropper tool.
    After many hours of support with adobe, they found out it was a change that was introduced to the 2026 version, to improve overall application funtionality.
    However my feedback to this, is shared with their engineering team, and they will further review this behavior.

    My hope is that they discard this new change, as the smart guides can be turned off totally, if you do not wish to use them, so I do not understand, why it should disappear on some tools. Working the 2026 version, I now have to activate the smart guides every time I use the eye dropper tool, (which is very often), and then again when choosing another tool, because the smart guides does not active automatically when switching back to a tool, that from the beginning was activated with smart guides. So I have to activate the smart guides all the time now...
