  1. Properties Panel, values are not selected by clicking on the symbol in front of their field

    If I click on a symbol in a panel for a property like W or H or X or Y the current value gets selected. This does not work in the Properties panel, nothing gets selected and I have to double click inside the property field to select it.
    It slows down and is not consistent with the way it has worked for years.

  2. Add the ability to select an object by clicking it's visual appearance (strokes, glyphs, effects)

    Sometimes selection tools fail (seemingly) to pick up object.
    For example, if you have an object with fat stroke, clicking to outside part of that stroke will select nothing (or object underneath stroke) — you have to select in/inside edge to do it.
    Second example — type object, with an empty descender zone, behind baseline; you click below letters to select an object behind, but pick type object instead.
    Third example — object with a subtle but wide drop shadow effect applied to it. Shadow is almost invisible (low opacity and light color), but when you click in it, AI…

  3. Ability to change the default swatches

    I'd really like to open up a new document with a predetermined default swatch selection. I know this can be done by saving swatches and saving your workspace but if I want to add new colors, I can't to the saved swatch window.

  4. Different number of copies for each artboard

    Hi,

    I've a document in Illustrator with a lot of pages (artboards).

    I must print a specific number of copies for each page.

    Example: for the page number one I must print 20 copies, for the page two I must print 60 copies, ecc

    Is there a way to forward this request with one command or I must select one by one page?

    I've found this trick but is very complicated if I've a lot of pages to print: in the label of range of artboards I write : 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,5,5,5,5,5,ecc

  6. Less bugs, better perfomance, less bloat: bring back your a team on Illustrator!

    On the general course of Adobe (and especially Illustrator and XD)
    :
    - I've been defending Illustrator as a viable alternative to Sketch for screen design for years now within my team. But I am about to give up. Bugs and slow performance make it border unusable and make me look bad!
    - Please put your A-team back on Illustrator (and give it the XD engine) OR move faster with XD (probably the wiser option).
    - On XD: fantastic vector engine, but you guys are getting your *** kicked by Invision Studio (state-to-state hifi prototyping) and Figma (collaboration).

  8. Pressing Ctrl+Shift+PgUp with single artboard doesn't work as it does with multiple artboards

    When working with multiple artboards (I use them for exporting tiffs from larger design) using Ctrl+Shift+PgUp is quite handy to quickly navigate to first, master artboard AND set zoom to 'Fit artboard to window' with one hotkey.
    But when you have only one artboard, pressing Ctrl+Shift+PgUp (expecting it to fit artboard in window) does nothing.

    I think it should work consistently.

    In the past, with Freehand, we could to do that by clicking on the bottom corner right of the text box.
    Recover that would be a good idea.

  10. Have a search bar at the top that searches all menu items.

    Ok, the Adobe menus have a LOT of menu items and features. You guys should create a search bar that searches all the menu items and features to make it easier to find things.

    Microsoft has this feature in it's Office Suite and it is SUPER useful.

    For example have a bar that asks the user "What are you looking for" They can type anything, for example "Alignment" and it would bring up the alignment menu. Or "pathfinder" will bring up a button for the pathfinder menu.

    Think about it guys, would save EVERYONE who isn't a pro SO much…

    The latest 2022 release has the Discover window that you can quickly call using F1 by default, which searches most if the commands available.
    Have you tried it? Please tell us how it differs from what you expect from the global search you have in mind? What is missing or can be improved?

  11. Default Artboard Position

    When you create a new Adobe Illustrator document the Default Position of the Artboard should not be in the center it should be in the upper left corner with a little margin top and left.

    At least give us the option to choose if we like a default center or upper left corner artboard position.

  12. Changeing force of Bezier handles without changeing their orientation

    Case study:

    1. click Direct Selection Tool (white arrow)
    2. click a curve segment (not vertex) of any shape
    3. drag

    See how the orientation of Bezier tangents at both ends of the segment change orientation? This is most unhelpful. If, instead of dragging the mouse, you use keyboard increments (arrows), then the tool acts the correct way -- changeing the Bezier handles length, or "force", while retaining their direction, or "azimuth".

    I understand the interest of the present behavior, but I believe it would be great if there was a modifier key to activate the "keyboard" behavior when using the mouse drag.

  14. アンカーポイント削除時の挙動

    例えば添付のような円の向かって左のアンカーポイントを削除すると、当然ながら添付Aのようになりますが、

    Bのように、アンカーポイントは削除したいけれど形状はなるべく最初の状態をキープしてほしい

    場面がたくさんあります。

    他のベクター系のアプリケーションでは可能だったりするので、技術的に難しいことでは

    ないと思うのですがこの挙動を採用することはできないんでしょうか。

    何かやり方があったりするんですかね?

    どちらか選べると大変ありがたいのですが。

    またアンカーポイントを、形状は極力キープしたままライン上を移動できるようになると作業効率は

    格段に上がると思うのですが。

  15. Allow importing of PDF's not from Adobe Acrobat and preserve text

    I import PDF files into Illustrator every day from programs like AutoCAD & Revit, and every single time, it tells me that Illustrator can't read the text in the font Arial, and that it must substitute it. This turns it into squares that are all giberish. The only workaround is to outline text in Acrobat before importing. Please learn that people are using programs outside the Adobe environment (for which there is no substitute by Adobe) and we need these BASIC capabilities.

  16. Correct direction of the object rotate function

    When rotating objects in a positive angle direction, objects SHOULD rotate CLOCKWISE
    When rotating objects in a negative angle direction, they SHOULD rotate COUNTER CLOCKWISE

    Illustrator seems to be BACKWARDS from all other programs I have ever used...

  17. Dedicated buttons for Undo, Delete, Redo

    Dedicated buttons for Undo, Delete, Redo.
    Either at the top or on a floating toolbar. I'm sick of having to go to the keyboard or:
    Edit > Undo
    Edit > Clear
    Edit > Redo
    Sure I could use keyboard shortcuts — but I don't want to.
    Virtually every other program has these buttons.
    It cannot be hard to add them, even if only in that new properties panel.
    You have to assume its bloody mindedness on Adobes part, continuing not have this basic feature and thinking everyone gets a thrill out of Command Z

  18. Support for 9-slice scaling for assets in libraries

    Many projects rely on the sharing of assets, but when these can't be correctly scaled or stretched due to the lack of support for 9-slice scaling, the shared library is of little use. It is especially a problem in responsive projects, where a number of items can have varying heights or widths such as menu bars, buttons and modals.

    This has been a problem for years now.

  19. Touch Workspace Eraser

    Drawing in the touch workspace is not usable without an eraser. A Simple undo is not enough. Try to undo something you drew 5 minutes ago without undoing the stuff you like and you'll see what I mean.

  20. Add paragraph return (^p) as a special character in Find and Replace window

    Find and Replace text has a shortcut popup for a Forced Line Break, ^n, but not the more common simple Paragraph return, ^p.

    A Paragraph return is the normal Return button on all keyboards. A forced line break is Shift/Enter.

    Find/Replace understands ^n notation for a forced line break, but does not understand ^p notation for a paragraph return.
