1. Colour Book/Pantone Swatches to remain in Custom Workspaces

   Hi - is there a way to have custom colour books/Pantone swatches to save in a custom Workspace? I have to keep adding them again each time I restart Illustrator, and it's a bit of a pain! Thanks!

   Swatch libraries can be made persistent via their panel’s menu. Look into comments for details.

2. Toggle Off Large Canvas Scaling when Saving as PDF

   Any artboards created larger than 227 x 227 inches are changed to a large canvas setting, which adds a scale factor to the canvas. So Illustrator will say a document that is 300 x 300 is actually 30 x 30 and just scaled by 1/10 of the size. This setting causes issues with my printer software where it reads it as a 30 x 30 and not the true size, it is disregarding the scale factor. I have to take these files and chop them up into smaller panels to print them. When I chop them up it is still keeping that scale factor on the canvas when saving them as pdf, even if the canvas size is smaller than 227 x 227. The only work around I found is to take the large canvas and chop everything up in there then copy and paste it into a completely new document at the smaller panel size as a normal canvas setting and not the large canvas setting. I want the ability to toggle off the scaling feature when saving as a PDF so that when I go to print them on my printer it doesn't read the scaling incorrectly and just reads the actual canvas size. I feel like it could be added in the PDF save settings as a checkbox saying something like "Disregard Large Canvas Scaling" or something.

   Also I want the ability to easily tell if something has been created in the large canvas setting, currently there isn't an easy way to tell if it has been created. Sometimes designers send me something that is less than 227 x 227 so I think it is a normal canvas and when I go to print I find out it was designed as a large canvas and then sized down so it still has a scaling factor put on the artwork.

3. Incorporate a shortcut inside gradient's panel

   I would like to suggest to incorporate the shortcut D for "reset" the 2 initial colors inside the gradient's panel to system standard colors (black and white). I usually use as a last step before finishing my artworks some shadows for a more realistic depth/aspect using black-to-white together with multiply. The D shortcut reset the main stroke and fill colors main swatches, so it would be a little bit faster if the software understands the D as this way while it's working on gradient's setup windows.

4. Search for tools by name when editing the toolbar

   When editing the tools that are in the toolbar we are confronted with a big panel full of tools. The recent update that categorizes them and allows for a grid view is very helpful. However, I still find myself scrolling down and up trying to find the particular tool I would like to add to the toolbar because it's so easy to miss it. If there were a little search bar at the top where we could type the name of the tool we are trying to locate to pair down the options it would be a much nicer/quicker experience.

5. Curvature Combs and Tunni lines

   Two ideas, both aimed at creating smoother curves:

   1. curvature combs:
      an additional visual aid that could be enabled/disabled via hotkey or option on a panel that assists the artist/user in evaluating whether a curve is continuously smooth, or whether it needs adjustment. See this blog for a quick coded breakdown:

   Note that I'm not suggesting that the illustrator team rip-off anybody else's software, but I think these sorts of tools/assists would be handy for quite a few users who require more than the typical "eyeball-it" precision illustrator offers currently.

6. Illustrator Version History Panel for Synced Files

   It would be nice if the Version History Panel within Illustrator also showed the History for Items locally saved and synced via Creative Cloud Files. The information and abilities are there when you view the file via the Creative Cloud Files Web page so it would just be a matter of the panel bringing in that information to the Panel from the website. It would be helpful to have that info locally within Illustrator instead of having to go out to a webpage in a browser.

7. Allow to choose delimiter in Variables

   Hi, I need to have the ability to upload a tab separated csv file in the variable window. In Mexico we use commas instead of dots to separate the thousands, that generates a bad reading of the data set. Thanks

8. Disable Text Auto-Formatting

   In Illustrator 2023 came the addition of auto-formatting being applied to text.

   Specifically bullets, hyphen bullets, etc.

   This should have an option to permanently disable, as it is a nuisance and an efficiency problem to have to turn off every single new text block.

   Seriously, Adobe looked at one of Word's most broken features and decided to ram it into Illustrator? The least you could do is look at a good implementation of it like on Google Docs!

   But nope, we get terribly formatted, non-customizable, defaulted bullet auto-formatting.

   At least give me a preference setting to turn it off permanently.

   This strips away a designer's autonomy and adds another needless click to do something that didn't previously need to be done.

   There is a way to disable this feature: Preferences > Type > Automatic Bulleted and Numbered lists while typing.

   However, the fact it’s that obscured and is not given to a user when a conversion happens is a bad UX indeed. In some other apps this choice is given, even when it’s not the first one.

   If you want to change this, please keep adding votes and comments.

9. Need magnetic lasso tool in illustrator

   Need magnetic lasso tool in illustrator to draw architecture images very easily like lines, circles or any shapes in image format to vector.. it's very helpful. please have a look into it.

11. Pressure Sensitivity Bug using Windows 10 Pro with Wacom Cintiq 22

    There is a bug where pressure sensitivity does not work no matter what I do in Windows 10 Pro using the Wacom Cintiq 22. Brush options have been changed from fixed to pressure with the calligraphy brushes, I have verified that Wacom is enabled in Devices, Windows Ink and Pen settings have been disabled to the best of my ability, I updated and reinstalled Illustrator multiple times, installed previous Illustrator versions, reinstalled Wacom drivers, restarted my PC and still, nothings seems to work. Pressure sensitivity is working perfectly fine with all other applications including Photoshop. It is exclusively Illustrator that refuses to work! Please fix this please. Please look into this. Currently I am using the latest version which is 27.0 and the problem persists!

12. Fit a symbol on multiple 3D objects at once

    Would love that a symbol could fit on MULTIPLE objects at once, like here the bottom petal to have its symbol continue on the left one.

    And I would love if I could, from the decals box, get a ctrl/right click option to duplicate one symbol. So far, I need to add it from the symbol panel again which will reset its position to the center of the object.

13. Better grid settings

    Inkscape 1.1 has great grid management.
    It's embedded with the document: because grid needs vary a lot from a document from another
    It's accessible on the lateral panel, while on AI you need to enter the general settings; all while snapping is in the view menu (go figure...)
    There a two types of grid.
    You can set several grids.
    On this lateral panel, and for each grid, you can easily define there enable , visible and snapping status. (no menu spelunking)
    You can set the grid origin with coordinates or by alignment to the page (on AI if you modify the canvas size, you take the risk of losing the rest of the work's alignment to the grid)

    What would be great:
    Have a Grid window (the same way there is an Artboard window) that can be placed in the lateral panel or control bar) to easily and rapidly manage grids and there behavior (visibility, snapping, etc.). Also, have grid settings embedded with each file.

14. Stroke width profiles stored with files, not with app

    Currently, variable stroke width profiles are stored within the app, not within the file. So when I want to work on a cloud file on another computer, I have to manually add profiles to the saved profiles dropdown again from existing strokes, because they are no longer available.

    And while you're at it, add sorting, exporting and importing options to the variable width panel, it is seriously frustrating having to go through all of them every time - if you commonly use this feature, the list can get quite long.

15. Illustrator de sistemas operacionais mais antigo

    A Adobe através do Creative deveria manter atualizações do Illustrator de sistemas operacionais mais antigo. Meu caso tenho iMac 2011 com o macOs High Sierra 10.13.6 e não consigo atualizar o 24.0, pois, o Creative só atualiza do Catalina pra frente. Tenho certeza que a Adobe deva repensar. Pois é uma frustração de assinante de décadas.

16. Export for screens missing slice selection feature from Save for Web

    Export for Screens seems to be missing a few things to be able to replace Save for Web (Legacy), which is a strong limitation since Export for screens have features Save for web doesn't: Support for exporting multiple scales / resolutions , which is a must in 2022 with responsive images on the web.

    One area it is lacking in is support for slices (by priority):
    1. Be able to export only a selected slice
    2. Be able to split up export for screens based on slices

17. A way to convert type to strokes

    Can you please create one button that converts type to single-line strokes? Then we can edit letters using the width tool, etc.

    Right now it looks like the best option is to rasterize the type, and Image Trace single line. I know your team can make it easier than that because you're wizards.

19. Ability to warp more precisely

    I work in the label industry and we have to warp artwork for tapered containers.
    We find that we need to be between whole numbers of a percent.
    Is it possible to have the ability to warp 1.3% without it just rounding down or up to the nearest whole number?

20. Highlight last used field

    Best feature in Indesign is to jump back to last used field using a keyboard shortcut. I think this should definitely be part of every application, including Adobe Illustrator. That is, similar to Indesign:

    Activate last-used field in panel --- Default: Opt+Cmd+`

    This should be a great addition to all the Adobe Applications.
