Gradient tool on desktop similar to the iPad version!
Please make the Interactive Gradient Tool work as in the iPad version, where both end nodes behave similarly.
On the desktop version, when one end is dragged, it moves the whole gradient around.
On the iPad, both ends can be moved independently.
It makes the tool counter intuitive!10 votes -
Anchor point sliding (reposition point tool)
It would be nice to have an Anchor Point Slide function that transfers the anchor's position along the path without disturbing it, the same way nodes work in a 3D software. I find it very frustrating when I'm trying to reposition an anchor point without altering the path, but there's no way to do that.

Adobe fonts do not auto activate reliably. Constant issues with Adobe fonts activating properly.
Your product does not auto activate and integrate "Adobe Fonts" properly. Fonts constantly fail to load or activate from the Adobe fonts library.
When features like this are not available, you are selling us a product that does not work. Everyone paying for an adobe subscription should be refunded based on the value of the feature. I.e. we should all be refunded for the value of PANTONE color use your app lost... why are we constantly paying to subscribe to a suite of programs that does not live up to the features promised? LAB Decimal values
Illustrator only supports integer values for LAB. It'd be amazing if there will be support for decimal values for LAB swatches.

Do not include objects outside artboard when exporting to jpg or png
When I export Illustrator files to jpg or png, it includes all shapes and objects sitting outside my artboard area. This is impractical, especially when working on a range of concepts and you just want to send the work to the client that is on the artboards and not all the working files sitting outside the artboard area.
1 voteChecking 'Use artboards' option forces Illustrator to ignore objects on canvas outside artboards, even when the one artboard is used only.
When the option is off, Illustrator will export the whole artwork on canvas.

Fonts do not displaying on Character panel
Select the text inside the illustrator and character panel is empty, never show any fonts be using. My computer didn't install the fonts but can display correctly in illustrator.
When exported to PDF, can check the fonts is using Lora-Bold.I'm really frustrated and worries, how to check incoming files if always having this issue.
Please help on this method.

Merge Swatches Shortcut Key
Can we get a shortcut key or be able to create a keyboard shortcut for Merge Swatches in the Swatches Panel?

Top toolbar should display true length and width of shapes, not the "properties" of the shape.
It's very confusing when you reference the top toolbar to see the length and width of a shape only to realize the values are completely wrong. This is because the top toolbar displays the "properties" of a shape for whatever reason. The length of an object should always be the longest horizontal measurement, and the height should always be the longest vertical measurement, regardless of rotation. Despite not displaying true length and width, the toolbar uses symbols which clearly indicate length and width: a double ended horizontal arrow first, then a double ended vertical arrow second. Find and Replace text panel not closing after every replacement
When you need to replace multiple text in illustrator right now you need to copy the text go to Edit - Find and replace, paste your text, replace it, and then click done which results to closing the window.
So you must reopen the window every time for the next replacement.
You can have this option as it is in InDesign where you can copy and paste text while the window is open and the window stays open after you done replacing. Also it will be more convenient to be able to add the panel at the dock.

Make Increase / decrease font size hotkeys to respect chosen Font Height Options
Font Height Options are amazing.
It’s almost a perfect feature to my taste... but when I hit Font Size Step Up / Down or Point Size Up / Down (Shift + Ctrl/Cmd + ./, and Alt/Opt + Shift + Ctrl/Cmd + ./,) — Illustrator adds the chosen Size/Leading value (from Preferences > Type) to the Em Box size anyway, and not the x-height or the Cap height I chose to work with.So, say, with chosen step 0.5 mm and x-height 15 mm I get 15.267 mm instead of 15.5 mm as the next size up, or 16.335 mm instead…

Remake the Tools / Menu Commands dropdown in Keyboard Shortcuts into two toggle buttons
Dropdown lists just from two elements are pure evil.
Illustrator has one in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.What’s a point of having it? Don’t you have enough space on the x-axis to display both items at once and improve the discoverability of both options?
As if you were hoping to get another item in that list and never added... in30 years.Remake it into two conjoined toggle buttons, or at list in a radio-group (ugh), but just allow users to see both available options at once.

Extend the grid interval from 377.7 mm to 1000 mm (or more, who cares if it 100,000,000 with 1000 subdivisions?)
To make it easier to use real world dimensions when drawing large artwork in Ai I have a document that is a few meters wide and a few meters high.
I want the major grid lines at 1000 mm interval (its a 1 to 1 technical drawing) and subdivisions of 10, so minor grid lines at 100 mm intervals.
I can't, Ai has a max grid interval of 377.777777.
Doesn't make sense to limit it in this way. Grid intervals in AutoCAD etc. are whatever you want them to be at all.

PDF Bookmarks named with the Artboard Titles
Similar to this request for XD:

I think this could be as simple as creating a bookmark for each artboard.

An option to ignore strokes when using Fit to Artwork Bounds or Fit to Selected Art commands
Illustrator now always fits the current artboard respecting strokes and raster effects, as if the 'Use Preview Bounds' option is on.
However, disabling this option does not change the behaviour 'Fit to Artwork Bounds' or 'Fit to Selected Art' commands — strokes and shadows are still considered to be the bounds to fit.
This is not what a user wants in many cases, and geometric bounds are preferred instead.
We need Illustrator to either respect 'Use Preview Bounds' option — as Symbols do — or have another set of option for fitting command, to separately control strokes and effects.17 votes -
Add a modifier key to Pen and Anchor Point tools to constrain an existing anchor handle’s angle while dragging a new handle out
What I ask for is the equivalent of "constrain path dragging on segment reshape" kind of behaviour, but accessible on the fly on the anchor point edit level, not segment level. As it is now, if I have an anchor with a long handle on one side and short handle on the other side, it is impossible to adjust short handle directly without seriously messing with the direction of the long handle, altering the curvature wildly.
