  1. Multipage PDF export in the Asset Export Panel

The Asset Export panel is really great and you can export Artboards as PDF but each artboard is a PDF file.

It will be so great to add a checkbox to export the selected Artboards as a unique Multipage PDF.
Currently you can export in PDF using Save as… PDF, you have to enter manually the pages ranges and it's not memorized for the next export like in Export for Screens (Asset Export panel).

  2. Export for Screen Quality of export

Not sure if it has been asked or discussed (spent way to much time searching for it and not finding it) but the "export for screens" exports terrible quality - mostly for jpg.

The quality is jagged and blurry when exporting a large graphic with text that has been outlined. Yet, when I use the legacy export for the same width and size I want, the quality is far superior whilst still having a small footprint in size.

Why is the legacy export, in any format, so much better than the "export for screens" that…

  3. Custom presets for Asset Export / Export for Screens

When adding in your own custom sizes and suffixes into the Asset Export panel it would be nice to be able to save these out as a preset for later use.

For my job I have to export the same image into 20-30 different sizes with individual names (suffixes) that don't change. That's why I thought it would be good if you could set up all the file sizes and names once then save it out as preset for later use or to even share with a colleague.

It would speed up the workflow for many people if this was…

  4. Export from Libraries

Sometimes clients ask for icons and other assets to be delivered separately. If we could export items from the library or drag directly from the library to the asset export window it would be fantastic!

  5. Export Symbols

There should be a way to export symbols as png. svg. jpg. etc. In a similar way as the Asset export. Ideally using the name of the symbol.

  6. "Asset export" - changing object not updating it in export

    Hello,

In this video Export assets for web and app design | it's all like perfect - after changing object color - it's will be updated too in asset export, yes...
But in real life I want not just change a color, I want to made much more changes, just by adding new polygons path, and so - it's will not update asset at export. Because only what I've selected before and dragged into asset will be updated.

What needs to be done - if I right click on polygons which already "connected" with asset for export -…

  7. Export selected only

Would like to see an "EXPORT SELECTED ONLY" option, so that you can export just a selection of items from a file with many elements. Really a pain to have to copy the items I want to export, and paste them into a new file in order to export them.

  8. DWG Export - export Visible layers only

Have an option to export only visible layers to DWG.
When exporting a DWG have an option to export only visible layers,
this would work in a similar way to export selected items only, but would save unlocking all layers you want to export and selecting the items.

  9. Export Individual Layers separately

Now we can only export the multiple art boards on one layer at a time. Please make it possible to select more than one layer and export those to files.

It would save a ton of time when we have multiple images to export from like dartboards stacked up on multiple layers.

  10. Export Multiple PDF Presets (at the same time!) in "Export for Screens" Menu

Export Multiple PDF Presets (at the same time!) in "Export for Screens" Menu

At our design and print shop, when exporting projects, we use a number of PDF (and image) presets to create print ready files, proofs, and web files.

The Export for Screens feature will not allow us to export multiple PDF Presets (i.e. export print ready PDFs at the same time as smallest file size PDFs).

  11. Export for Screens - Prefix artboard number

In Export for Screens dialog, include the ability to export the Artboard number in Prefix (or Suffix). A checkbox or variable string would do (eg $A). Currently we have to manually add the Artboard number into the Artboard name.

  12. Save As PDF and PDF Export

Illustrator is long overdue for PDF export. Without PDF export saving a PDF from Illustrator is an arduous, multi-step process that must be repeated every time. There is also a dangerous trap in the process that can make the user’s file uneditable. Compare this to InDesign, which has PDF export and all changes are sticky.

    Illustrator
    1. File > Save a copy,
    2. Change format to PDF,
    3. Remove “ copy” from filename,
    4. Change directory,
    5. Click Save,
    6. Enter PDF options,
    7. Click Save.

    InDesign
    1. File > Export,
    2. Click Export.

    Because all options…

There is no true PDF Export in Illustrator, because Illustrator allows to have editable PDFs with .ai-content stored within. Other apps does not allow that, and some users heavily rely on editable PDFs.

Attemps to solve this were made, but there is no clear solution so far. Still we hope to find one.

The intended way to get a PDF (without loosing your data) at the moment would be to use Save a Copy command that saves a separate copy of your file to PDF instead of Save As which keeps a saved file open.

  13. Illustrator - PDF Export Cropmarks

Illustrator really needs a usefull cropmark export option in the pdf export dialougue. just like InDesign. I mean it looks similar to InDesign but its simply not working! who needs cropmarks up to 15 mm long?? why cant i edit the length, width.. etc?. Please make this function usefull!! asap

  14. Export / Save As Multiple formats on the export screen

After selecting the export or save as, the normal dialog box would open and include a check box for multiple formats (ai, pdf, jpeg, etc.).

  15. Export for Screens, CMYK to RGB

When working in a CMYK Illustrator file, the Export for Screens function currently creates CMYK jpgs. Since it is for screens, it should convert to RGB. Or at least there should be an option to convert the color mode for the exported files.

In a package design project, the files are primarily for printing, but digital mockups are a secondary purpose. So it is necessary for the CMYK color mode to be converted to RGB. Export for Screens seems like it should inherently create RGB files.

  16. Export with Grid

I tried to search for how to export a document with the grid visible and found some results in Google, but couldn't apply any of them. Over an hour chatting with a Help Agent, I was told it can't be done. Why wouldn't there be an option to export/print with the grid on?
I've been learning how to do Floor Plans using Illustrator (since I already have Creative Cloud) and got reprimanded for handing in an assignment without a grid...imagine my frustration that it's not even an option AND that it took over an HOUR of chatting with someone…

  17. Export for Screens without bleed option

    Export screens without the bleed

I really like the feature called Export screens, but I do not really use it for print jobs, cause I can't export any picture format file without the bleed section of the document, which I use to show the client the stages of the job. Still, I could do the same with Save for web function, but it would be very very useful to export multiple artboards at the same time without the bleed.

  18. Background Export (not save)

Ai now can save documents in background (partially, but still) — it saves a lot of time.
InDesign, on the other hand, can export in background (well, some file types).

What if exporting process go in background too, leaving Ai unlocked?

  20. Save the Export Path to with Export for Screens Presets

Please, SAVE the "Export To:" path with the Export Preset.

I don't want to set my Export Path in Export for Screen every f*ing time I restart Illustrator.

I was hoping that Export Presets would have fixed this annoyance, but it didn't help at all.

It amazes me how impossible it seems for Adobe to get these simple things work like they should.
