  1. Let the "." on the numeric keypad work as a decimal separator for all countries.

    In Dutch, we user the comma as a decimal separator. (0,5 is how we write a half)
    Lots of use use the International English keyboard, and the English versions of Adobe CC. But for some reason Illustrator refuses to recognize the "." on the numeric keypad as a separator. When I type "7,2" Illustrator show this correctly in the input fields, but when hitting enter, it makes "72", just skipping the comma.
    Please make a Preference to set the "." or "," on the numpad always to act as a decimal separator.

  2. Show reference point locator in Scale/Rotate/Shear/Reflect tool dialogue

    I wonder, why 'Transform each' has one, while normal transform tools haven't. This would be so useful!

  3. Add paragraph return (^p) as a special character in Find and Replace window

    Find and Replace text has a shortcut popup for a Forced Line Break, ^n, but not the more common simple Paragraph return, ^p.

    A Paragraph return is the normal Return button on all keyboards. A forced line break is Shift/Enter.

    Find/Replace understands ^n notation for a forced line break, but does not understand ^p notation for a paragraph return.

  4. Make ability to make warnings show in background and not in dialogue windows

    Right now we can click OK/Enter every time interrupting warning dialogue pops up, or tick 'Never show again'.
    I would prefer background message, same as 'Shape expanded' now appears.
    For example, I use Ctrl+J combination to connect all my segments in one closed path. I can have two or more segments, and just press this combination several times to achieve my goal, rather then count how many times I should press it. But when path is finally closed, AI throws a warning at me. Usually my hands press keys one more time after that and AI beeps-blinks, which is awful…

  5. A big persistent Color palette offering RGB and HSB and Grayscale at a glance.

    When making Illustrations, I switch between RGB / HSB and Grayscale all the time. I have a 30" screen - room enough to show all mixers all the time.
    Please make this possible.

  6. Allow tool bar to be horizontal

    Now that the properties has been finally set in the right panel, I love it! This allows me to have the layers set in the left panel. Next step, It would be nice to have the ability to set the tool bar above or below horizontally.

  7. Make Enclosed Selection Mode a permanent option

    Illustrator now allows to use Enclosed Mode to select objects within the marquee (originally requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31863601), but the only way to do it is tap E key.

    I agree that this basic feature is essential, but I don't agree that any modifier keys or specific dragging directions (like requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/49489604) should be required. Shift-drag is already used to add to the selection, so that won't work.

    Opt/Alt toggles duplication, and both can be toggled mid-drag (unlike in Photoshop).

  8. An ability to disable Text to Vector Graphic feature and any other generative options

    I'd like to be able to turn off the new feature for "text to vector graphic (beta)" and others like it if possible, or for these to be disabled from the start, with an AI-free build.

  9. Group Overlapping Objects

    A very casual and time-consuming operation, especially because we lost Object Lasso (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/44462988-bring-back-object-lasso-tool) — drag a marquee around objects, hit Gtrl+G, drag another, group again... repeat dozens of time, especially if you draw icons or something similar for stocks.

    What if Illustrator was able to do it for us?
    Scan the selection, search for overlapping objects and create groups?

    What if it could do that in two modes: simple, by intersecting boundaries, and advanced, when true outlines being checked?

    What if it could do that with a tolerance also? Like if object are, say, 10 pixels apart, group…

  10. Change line color and fill color of groups in one click

    Let say you have multiple groups existing of line segments and filled objects (lines and circles for example). If I want to change the color of the lines and objects of a group, by clicking on a group, that is not possible. Or all line segments get a fill too or all the objects get a line too.

    To fix this, I have to go inside the group, select all the objects, change the fill and then select all the line segments and change the line color.

  11. Return showing thumbnail file previews on Windows in Explorer

    Please add thumbnail file previews to Windows as we have with Adobe Reader. It's not fair that Mac users have this and Windows users don't While you're doing that please add them to PSD files as well.

  12. Previous/Next Artboard hotkeys should be able to keep zoom

    Right now Ai also does 'Fit Artboard in Window' when any of artboard navigation hotkeys are used. I’d like also be able to keep zoom level when navigating artboards.

  13. Make keyboard shortcuts work for different input languages

    I'd love to see an update that lets me use the same physical keys for shortcuts while I have a different keyboard than English selected.

    For example, the backslash key () is used for the line tool. But when switching to German, the same physical key returns (#) and in Romanian we have a (â).

    I wish that all shortcuts activated by the press of the physical keys work as intended in the interface regardless of the language currently active so I don't have to switch so much between languages just to have my shortcuts work again.

  14. 'Reverse Order' option for Transform Effect

    When you set several copies in Transform effect, Illustrator makes them stack under original art, 'going backwards'. Sometimes it's better to have an opposite behaviour, with copies stacking up, 'towards' viewer.

    Please add this checkbox near 'Copies" field.

  15. Draw/brush selection

    I work with pixel art. When I select I need to click on every single pixel to change color, if it's not simple shapes like a rectangle that I can marquee and select. If I draw, I just drag the pixels around accidentally. I would like to draw a selection with a brush (any brush I like), and that whatever is covered beneath what I draw by the brush gets selected. And it shall be in a mode that no pixels or objects or anything is dragged around.

  18. You can't enter isolation mode when nothing is selected

    Sometimes I want to create artwork without messing up with existing one, and without locking/hiding anything (because it's require for other operations).
    Sane way is to enter isolation mode and start there.
    But NO, AI won't let you isolate empty space! And I have to create one thing (trying to not auto-connect to existing paths), then isolate it and finally draw in peace.
    If you afraid that many users will double-click nothing and struggle understanding what has happened, make it an option.

  19. Match Width or Height to Key Object

    I would like a quicker way to match an object's width or height to that of another object. Currently I have to select the correctly sized object, copy the W value, select the next object, and paste the W value. This must be done individually for each object. A pain when you have, say, a dozen objects scattered around the artwork but you want them to all be the same size. I think it could work similarly to the "align to key object" tool.

  20. Remove Export Size Limit for PDF (200")

    I have designed a 206 Feet Wide banner Designed at 1:12 Scale (206") in illustrator, I am Literally Unable to Send it for Printing, Because i Can't Export it to PDF because its Exceeding 200"...

    Illustrator itself can't design something Greater than 227 Inches, While more WORST thing is the Export to PDF file Size Limit, which is currently set to 200". Why to Leave Scaling on Printer RIP, Why Not send a Print Ready File. So if there's something wrong, we could catch and fix it, rather get it Printed.
