  1. File > Adobe PDF Presets menu, to have even faster PDF export options

    Starting with build 28.6, we can now Export As PDF (thanks to this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32841790)

    This works alongside with a pervious lesser known method: Save a Copy, as PDF.

    However, exporting a PDF copy to make a quick 'snapshot' still feels slow — we get a dialog and have to choose a preset we want to use.

    Meanwhile InDesign offers a handy configurable menu that allows to skip format options and go with a chosen preset, like the attached screenshot shows.

    Please make a similar menu.

  2. Show number of selected objects

    It's amazing nobody asked for this.

    Just use that bottom filed that can show artboard name, current tool, etc, for saying how much objects user has selected.

    If you are as lazy as you are implementing user requests — make just this. But make it better and allow this field to show several things instead of one. And add artboard number there.

  3. Control of SVG <style> class names on Export

  4. Asset Export - Ability to reorder asset list view and group items

    Asset Export - Ability to reorder asset list view:

    Love the asset export, but it'd be really useful to click/drag change the order of my asset list in Asset Export panel.

    It would also be great to have an option to group by art board. When I have a file of 20+ ad variants as their own individual artboard and want to export assets, it's a pain to keep track of things.     Typing in #333 should auto-complete to #333333, not #000333. Makes UI design frustrating for those with a dev background.

  6. Option to replace RGB sliders with HSB everywhere - all swatches and all color pickers.

    We need ability to universally use HSB instead of RBG. I want the ability to fully replace RGB input and sliders with HSB everywhere in AI. I never want to look at RGB sliders ever again.
    This request is all over the forum in different phrasings/forms but unfortunately that has divided the votes leading to lower ranking.

    There is a similar report, now marked as fixed, but users say it’s not:

  7. Option to disable Rotate View

    I think the new rotate view update is great if you want to work from multiple angles. But I’ve found it extremely difficult to work while using my trackpad because when ever I zoom in on my projects rotate view is automatically triggered and I have to keep going back to reset my view. As someone who works on multiple art boards at once this happens in a smaller span of time which tends to become annoying after a while.

  8. Make gradient swatches global

    Gradient swatches should be globally applicable. This would mean they´d need to be editable - either in Swatch Options just like other swatches or replacable by dragging a altered version of a gradient onto the old swatch. (At the moment, the only option is the swatch title)

  9. Gradients don't snap to grid or to Smart Guides

    I can't believe I haven't posted it, but the search says so.
    Since CS4, I guess, when the cool and fancy gradient annotator showed up, the Gradient tool had lost it's ability to snap to grid. WHY? Do you think nobody needs to snap gradients? I need, at least.
    It should also snap to Smart guides!

    Everything must snap to grid, when Snap to grid is enabled.

    I am really really sick of having Adobe Stock rammed down my throat. I don't want it, never will. Give me the option to turn it off!

  12. CMD - CMD + : Zoom to center screen as in Previous versions

    In new versions, CMD + and CMD - Zoom to center of a selected object rather than always the centre of the screen.
    It would be great if the possibility to restore the old feature was given.

  13. Clipping path in JPEG image file works in placement

    A JPEG file can include clipping path. This clipping path works well when placed in InDesign. However, Illustrator ignores this clipping path.

    If clipping path in JPEG works in placement, the user will be more creative.

  14. Make option for new artboards to track their names based on existing artboards

    Create 2 artboards.
    Delete second one.
    Create new artboard—the name will be 'Artboard 3'.

    This is very-very inconvenient most of the times.
    Make it behave as Layers behave both in PS and AI!
    New artboard should check the stack and increment it's name properly.

  15. Keyboard shortcut to duplicate a layer and its content or an object

    Please consider creating a keyboard shortcut that will duplicate a selected layer and its content, as in PsCC, for example.

    In PsCC one can duplicate a selected layer and its contents by using either of two keyboard shortcuts: 1) 'Ctrl+J' -or- 2) 'Alt+(any up/down/left/right arrow)'.

    In either case, the duplicated layer+content will appear above the selected layer.

  16. Split View on Mac

    Split View on MAC, allows for full screen view while running 2 apps, with ability to interact with both sides of the screen. Its available on all apps, except Abode! I check PS and AI - they both don't work in this view.

  17. More toggle buttons in top row / panel full of indicators

    You know, AI has a lot of options that can be turned on and off.
    And some of them switched on and off quite often: Snap to Grid, to Point, to Glyph, to Pixel... Guides, Smart Guides, Edges (can be both locked and / or hidden), Artboard Edges, Corner Widgets, Bounding Box...

    Of course, all of them can be accessed via View menu, but you just don't see them there! Users need no only SWITCH them, but KNOW what current state is.

  18. Split paths by currently applied dash settings

    Hi - I was directed here via adobe and illustrator support teams on twitter.

    I'm submitting a suggestion for a function or feature for adobe illustrator in which the user may subdivide a dashed path into individual smaller paths, by the measurement and placement of said dash style. I have seen many different suggestions and workarounds for this over the past few years but none actually execute this specific action. (Setting to .0001 stroke, expanding, then deleting excess points isn't ideal!)

  19. Ability to edit a graphic style in Graphic Styles

    If I want to edit an existing and saved graphic style, I have to apply it to an object, go to Appearance, make changes, open Graphic Styles palette again and Alt+Drag object with style over style thumbnail (or dig into the menu to redefine it). This is very long way.
    If I just select a style and go to Appearance and make changes — the link between style and appearance will just vanish (the name of style vanishes), these changes will apply only to new art, and style itself won't be changed (unless I redefine it immediately).
