Saving PDF without modifying embedded images
Universities use LaTex PDF in researches for a good reason. The PDF produced by a LaTex app won't resample or blow-up the embedded images (JPEG). As a researcher, it will save us a lot of time if illustrator PDF setting has the option to not resample or alter the embedded images. A JPEG image (1920 x 1920 pixels) of a size 200 KB will make illustrator PDF file of about 10 MB. Whereas the PDF file produced by a LaTex app will be slightly bigger than 200 KB. I hope Adobe engineers will consider this issue.

Allow Illustrator documents to re-link to its shared-for-review Creative Cloud document if the link becomes broken
Sometimes a document that's been shared for review through the Creative Cloud will lose its connection to the local file. Sometimes because you've tried to create a new iteration, renamed the file, or sometimes it just happens for unknown reasons. When this occurs, it would be helpful to be able to reconnect them so that the review process continues with the same link to the end of the project. Edit Library graphic in place
Graphics you add to your library can only be edited in a separate file window. I would like to be able to edit the library graphic in place.
This would save time when editing graphics to make them more universally useful for me.

Show the options used for an action step recorded
In the Actions panel, most of the settings for some recorded tasks such as saving, exporting, etc. does not show up in the actions panel so I cannot even tell what file type the step is saving as. Is that intentional?

Overwriting Existing Workspaces and Toolbars
If I wanted to update my custom Workspace, I can create a new Workspace and give it the same name as before. When I do that, I am warned that the name already exists, and that clicking 'OK' will overwrite the old one. This is great. But if I try the same process for updating a custom Toolbar, it makes me choose another name. Then I have to remember where these files are stored in the Finder, go to that location, delete the old Toolbar, and rename the new one. Please make the process for updating an existing Toolbar as…

SVG Import Notification and/or debug log
Short back story: My company is an online supplier of custom printed products. Customers design their order on our website which we translate into an SVG file. Our production team imports that SVG file into AI for final processing of the customers order.
When importing SVG files to AI sometimes entire parts of the design are not imported without any notification or log of the event.
For example, when our production team imports SVGs where the text contains an emoji we sometimes (maybe always?) find that the entire text block is no longer included in the design. This is not…

Clear guides should delete guides in transparency masks too
Just took me ages to work out why i couldnt remove guides from a file and discovered they existed only within various transparency masks and had to go through each mask individually to remove them. Clear guides feature should remove those too, surely?!

Create new Library from document like Photoshop
I have a file that has 124 individually named artboards (each containing 1 icon), and was looking for a faster way to add these icons (with their appropriate names) to a library, rather than having to drag each one from their artboard to the library panel, and then have to rename each one (again). Photoshop offers this capability

Nel caso capiti di perdere o sovrascrivere un file creativo online (nel Cloud) dell'App Adobe Draw e si avesse solo l'esportazione del progetto in Illustrator (.ai), non esiste la possibilità di poter ritornare a lavorarci in Adobe Draw! Non esiste un file di scambio al contrario cioè da Illustrator a Draw! Questo può rappresentare un problema serio!

Searching brushes and other tools by their name in their tab would be great
I am saving all my brushes and patterns into my Print.ai file (am I supposed to do that?) and now it grew up to 100 MB.
With that many brushes, many of them also similar, a search brush by name feature perhaps would be helpful.3 votes -
Asset/Object export needs more options
I wanted to export multiple assets/objects with their artboard position and quickly realized they will get cropped and there isn't an option to change that.
The possible naming is also quite limited. Every professional program should have wildcards for naming files.
It boils down to missing batch features. I found a developer who gave it a try once (TomByrne IllustratorSmartExport). That's everything the batch export could and should be and it should be an official inspiration for how the export in Illustrator should look/feel like. Add Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X as a text modal keyboard shortcut for strikethrough text
Recently Ai finally added hotkeys slots for text formatting (following this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33679330) — for bold, Underline, Italics.
We need more.
Even though Strikethrough (as well as Underline) in Ai is very basic and does not allow customization (here is a request about both: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48103976), we need at least an empty hotkey slot for it. Most apps support Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X for this, so I suggest the same combination.3 votes -
Option to show only the actual missing fonts in missing fonts list
Please provide an option to show only the missing fonts in the top half of the missing fonts dialog box. If only the missing fonts were visible we wouldn't have to constantly scroll up and down the missing fonts list to find the yellow triangle.

Please add Illustrator option to maintain text color
Could you please add an option for us to keep the color we chose for the text in an illustrator file we're currently working on?
Meaning: Say I am writing text in a file, but I want separate text boxes and I want to keep the same color, rather than Illustrator defaulting back to black or whatever color was set as default in the preferences.

Illustrator on Web now has Quick Pen tool. Desktop Ai needs one too
Illustrator on Web got this Quick Pen tool (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-on-the-web-beta-discussions/introducing-the-new-quick-pen-tool-beta-in-illustrator-on-the-web-beta/td-p/14146260) in October of 2023, very similar to the recently abandoned Spiro Tool plugin, to Tangent Arc tool by Graffix, and to some of Astute Graphics’ plugins.
This is not a replacement to any one of them, and to the Illustrator’s native Curvature, but it’s an interesting tool to have at desktop as well.

Option to save / export values in 64 bits
I work in metric, and everything works perfectly until I have to export file to the CAD software which uses higher accuracy.
If I have a line of 42 mm, actual dimension is 42.00007 (because the way illustrator stores values in points, and getting rounded in 32bit).
Problem really shows up if I have to scale things 1000-10000 timesWould be amazing if Illustrator had an option to save / export values in 64bits

Prevent Conversion of Outlined Text to Editable Text
The Retype convert to live type feature makes it too easy for clients, vendors, and 3rd parties to convert uneditable work into editable work. It's a nice tool for your own work, but it is potentially bad for business.
Please add permissions features that allow us to control whether or not our files (PDF/AI) can be manipulated in this way by others or reconsider rolling out the Retype conversion feature.
Please DO NOT roll out the Retype convert outline to live type feature unless this protection is added to illustrator.

Right align Export destination folder path text on Export for Screens window
My suggestion is to have the 'folder path' text be right aligned in the text box, to have the export destination be more accessible, instead of the root folders.
Currently, I have to click into the folder path text box, then click + drag to see where my file will export to. This is cumbersome and unnecessary.
