Move & Scale by small decrease/increment of mouse wheel in properties
The idea is that when i use CTRL + Mouse Wheel to scale or move in properties any object or text the numbers are something like Y: 550.624 px when doing this they change to Y: 550.7 px i would like to be able it changes at small phase Y: 550.625 px or Y: 550.63 px so there will be 2 additional increments. Else i have to type this numbers manually.
I would assign them to some keyboard numbers like hold 1, 2 or 3 + mouse wheel for each increment.2 votes -
Make it possible to actually open Cloud Docs....
The idea of cloud docs is wonderful, but the reality is intensely frustrating.
File created in the studio; a simple text logo. Retun home need to make a change. Impossible to open.
"Make file available offline" Done. Still impossible to open.
Identical version of Illustrator on both Macs. Multiple occurrences. It has happened in reverse too
Workaround > Store files on a disk. Transfer manually. (Not what Adobe want to hear!)
I should add that this a a regular problem on PS too, so a broader Creative Cloud, issue. Oh and the internet connection is Gigabit, so not a speed…

Magic Grid
Hi!
I would like to have a new tool: a kind of semi-elastic placement aid. Our team designs packagings and often has to adapt layouts to new die cuts, so objects often have to be moved, but must not change in size themselves. Sometimes a logo exists in three different sizes, which must be chosen depending on the total height. In addition, they must adhere to minimum distances, which may also not be scaled. However, the design often follows a grid, e.g. a logo must be on the vertical at 5/13 of the total height. So I imagine a kind…

Control panel like that of Indesign
I've always liked Indesign, especially its control panel top bar.
I was wondering but is it not possible to have a control bar in Illustrator like the one in Indesign?
- bigger
- With More controls
- Dynamics
- By inserting quick links to many features that Illustrator makes available to us but every time you have to go and get them from the menus / submenus and you never remember where to go.
guy:
- object / path / path path
- object / path / offset
- object / path / add points
- object / weave

Please restore "Lettering" in the Trace presets
I cannot match prior documents with the new advanced settings.
I trace documents of text to be made into glass etchings and the previous "Lettering" preset in CS 5.5. Illustrator was perfect but the new sliders don't produce results as clean as previously.1 vote -
Knobs.
Just more knobs. There should be a knob next to every input that takes an angle value. The Scribble effect has one. The Gradient palette doesn't. The Transform palette has one but it could use another one along with a couple of text input boxes as an option to move an object a specified distance along a particular angle instead of moving it in X and Y. The angle value in the transform section of Properties doesn't have a knob. Scatter brush options have two horizontal sliders and no knobs. Put a knob next to each of those sliders.

Is there an option to set single keys and function keys as hotkeys?
Is there an option to set single keys and function keys as hotkeys?
I'm used to another vector drawing program in conjunction with Illustrator and that program has some very easy to use hotkeys that are essential for shape alignments, like C for horizontal centering, E for vertical centering, B for bottom of a shape and T for top, etc. On Illustrator I can't set a single keyboard key as a hotkey for the alignment functions without the use of Ctrl or Shift before the key. That's just a no go for me.
And since I use F5…

The ability to add CSS code from the Generator to CC libraries
Hi there, I wanted to put in a feature request that would allow a designer to add CSS code from the generator to be added to CC libraries as a text file.
As a designer, I create elements for our dev team and they are able to take the CSS code I generate from my designs and integrate it into another product for web development. But it would be good to give them a CSS library folder where they can access the code for the designs. At the moment in my testing, it only creates a graphic of the text…

Type in stroke width value instead of pull down menu in Character styles
In Character Styles the stroke width only provides a pull down menu to choose from. It would be better if we could type in an exact value.
The stroke width of texts needs to be very precise in my work, but the pull down menu is too limited to provide an accurate enough value. (The gaps between available options in the menu are too big.)When I create a new character style by selecting text and adding a new style, the style contains the correct stroke width. But when I need to adjust the width afterwards I can only…

Automated/AI-powered file names in Asset Export
Asset Export needs more options to automate and/or use variables. Designers often need to export large groups of files (e.g. variations of a logo in multiple colours and sizes, with/without a claim or other element) which then have to be tediously and manually renamed and sorted to reflect things like size, color.
It would be great if there were more option to automate the output by adding variables such as dimensions custom text fields, names of swatches used, etc This could even be an area where the use of AI might be useful to automatically detect the content and create…2 votes -
Distribute non-uniform objects equally
Would love to have a function that would arrange/distribute different non-uniform objects evenly within a prescribed area. This would be similar to how the current horizontal and vertical "distribute spacing" works but across a two dimensional area rather than just one dimension. The spacing should based on the edge of each object, not from the bounding box.
This function would be valuable for:
-creating unique patterns
-quickly arranging objects for a layout involving many individual objects
-maximizing space for printing/die cutting individual custom pieces such as stickersUser defined parameters could include:
-apply to selected objects
-fit within artboard
-fit…3 votes -
The Flip buttons in the Properties panel should copy objects
In the Transform section of the Properties panel there are Flip vertical and Flip horizontal buttons.
When holding down Alt while pressing the buttons it would be convenient if they could copy the object, like InDesign does.

Contextual Eyedropper Tool
Currently, the Eyedropper Tool is an underutilized and often counter-intuitive tool that needlessly increases the complexity of a workflow because of its limitations. This- combined with Illustrator's poor color tools- often adds unnecessary time and effort to what should and could be more simplified tasks.
For example, a common situation is that I have a shape with a fill color that I like, and I want another shape that has a stroke to also use that color, except only for the stroke. Currently, if I use the eyedropper tool on the filled shape, it will completely remove the stroke and…
5 votesThe solution to that would be to activate a stroke if you want to apply a color to it, then to hold Shift when clicking a color — does not matter where this color is on a stroke or a fill. Illustrator then applies the picked color to the active fill/stroke, ignoring the source nature. There are two things to know — the cursor does not inform you about this mode (unlike the Alt-mode, should be addressed), and if you pick a color from a swatch — you’d get a screen representation of the color... harmless for RGB documents (if your color settings are in order), but crucial for CMYK documents (should be addressed too). Pleas comment back. -
Need Better (and Less-Hidden) Accessibility Tagging Options
Please make it much easier to add accessible alt-text to InDesign documents. There should be an accessibility panel and pre-check to make it very easy for designers.
As it is now, it's too hidden: https://www.adobe.com/accessibility/products/indesign/alt-text.html
Posted in reference to my tweet, at the request of Adobe Support: https://twitter.com/exkclamation/status/1424788475698499585
1 voteYou were right making this request in InDesign’s UserVoice as well: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/43967871-need-better-and-less-hidden-accessibility-taggin
Please vote there! As for this one — I have to close it, because it is irrelevant for Illustrator.
But please add other requests for Ai if you use it. Thanks!

An ability to have an exact width without tracking
The width should be based on the actual vectors and not the letters with Tracking (Kerning). If I add 100 tracking to the text, it is wider then the actual vectors and that creates issues with making sure the letters will fit on a wall that they would be attached to.

Rotate Artboards
Enable artboards to be rotated individually. Simple. Here's an example of my currently workflow: if I have a large map with a winding road in illustrator, and I want each of my 5 artboards to be aligned with that road, I have to make rectangles where I wish the artboards could be, and then make the actual artboards encompass the rectangle. Then I export as an image, and rotate and crop in Photoshop to match the rectangle. This becomes especially annoying if the boundaries overlap, and I have to export artboards one by one, turning off the rectangles of…

Provide ability to use polygon tool from the corner of the bounding box
Most shapes in Illustrator (e.g. the ellipse and rectangle tools) draw from the corner by default or from the centre when holding Option/Alt, but the polygon tool doesn't provide this option.
When using the polygon tool, holding the Option/Alt key should switch to dragging from the corner of the bounding box, which would make it much easier to draw a polygon of a specific height (allowing the user to lean on features like Smart Guides for alignment).

Type on a Path Options
Type on a Path needs significant improvements.
• The Preview button should be sticky and the default position should be on.
• There need to be more alignment options including Cap Height and x Height.
• The options should be a panel not a dialogue.
• The options should be included in a style, perhaps by adding InDesign like object styles.
• The margins added when a path is converted to a type path should always start out at the ends of the path, not some arbitrary points along the path.4 votes
