PNG files rendered from AE import as blank linked files in Adobe Illustrator
PNG files rendered from AE import as blank linked files in Adobe Illustrator
Steps to Reproduce Bug:
1. Render a PNG from AE using the default Output Module.
2. Place the resulting PNG into an Adobe Illustrator document.
Results: PNG does not show in AI document as expected.
Expected Results: PNG would show as if it had been created/saved in Photoshop.
Note: Opening the PNG from AE and re-saving it from PS results in at PNG that imports as expected.

Looks like the resolution problem is back:

Never had this problem before, but had it today as I tried to import PNGs a motion graphic designer, that were saved out from an AE file. Nothing appears in Ai, and when trying to zoom out takes me outside the work area. PNG open in preview on a mac or photoshop just fine.

Looks like the problem is solved. I assume by After Effects, PNG files from AE CC 2018 15.0.1 work fine in Illustrator CC 2018 (and older versions). Good!

Here we go!
Please use this link to view a PNG saved from After Effects as well as a screen recording of the process: https://spaces.hightail.com/space/mIzn1shcBz
This uses the latest versions of AE, AI and PS, but this happens in older versions as well.
Thank you!

Hi Ashuntosh. I have a PNG file to post, but not sure how to go about doing so. I've also made a screen recording showing the process of exporting the PNG from AE, attempting to place it into an AI document, jumping to PS to re-save the it and then returning to AI to place the re-saved PNG as expected. -Warren

See also post (item 2) that contains a link to a sample file:

It is very easy to reproduce, any PNG file rendered from After Effects has this behaviour (since years).
But how do you attach a sample file here?
