black screen problem
When creating a new document or opening an existing document in Illustrator, I get a black screen (see attached). I have to resize the window to be able to work. This is not ok.
Version 22.1, MacOS 10.13.3, MacBook Pro with external monitor as main screen.

Thanks for confirming that it is working fine in 23.0.3

All good now - was a while ago and 23.0.3 is behaving impeccably now! Thanks though!

This has happened on my MacBook Pro, old and new. I always have to drag the window to my second display to fix it. It is quite vexing.

I have the same problem, I solved it by removing the GPU preview...

This keeps happening to me also, after I updated the software. I have to switch over to GPU Preview to see my artwork. Or, copy and paste everything into a new window.

I just installed the app a few days ago and this happens to me every time I open illustrator.
