Illustrator taking forever to save
Version 23.0.4 taking forever to save relatively small files- not sure what's going on but this problem began this week and persists after reinstall.

This certainly is not a normal behaviour of Illustrator.

Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

One more thing.
After quitting and opening Illustrator again saving time is again normal even to my network volume. -

Have the same issue. I'm on a Mac Pro running OS 10.13.6, 2x2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 34 GB 1066 MHz DDR3.
This happens only when I save to a network volume.
When I tried to disable background saving and slow network optimization my PDF was saved instantly but without any content (file attached).
Had to quit Illustrator and start it up again for my PDF to saved properly. -

I have the same problem, I'm wasting so much time while Illustrator hangs in the saving process
