SVGs opened in Illustrator don't include blend modes

I created an SVG in Illustrator that has some layers using the blend mode "overlay". I export out the SVG and it looks perfect. If I open that SVG in Illustrator it turns the blend modes into "normal" instead of "overlay".

    @ryanterry, do you still have this problem in Illustrator?
    If you do — please share the original .ai file, the resulting SVG, along with the exact settings used to save/export one (a screenshot would do).
