Lines aren't smooth with Pencil tool
Back in version 25.0 the paths drawn with the second setting were smooth. Since version 25.1 the paths aren't smooth. it creates unnecessary misplaced points.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.2.3 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

@egor thanks for that quick reply.
I use Sonoma 14.5 with Illustrator 28.5
I does not matter if I use mouse or Wacom Tablet. Same results for different devices. This is really bad ...

You are using the latest build, correct?
Can you verify the latest Beta does it better or worse, please? You can install it from your creative Cloud Desktop app.
Also — do you use a pen and tablet to draw these, or this is something the mouse produces as well? Can you share the specs for these devices? -

I'm using the Pencil tool quite a lot in "Accurate" Fidelity mode, but it seems like this mode somehow got worse with the last updates? Did they change anything with the Pencil tool?
Does anyone suffer the same results while drawing with some speed?
There are these wired bumps in a lot of sections, which are absolutely NOT accurate.
I know I can smooth the lines, but that smoothes everything. For some drawings I really like the accurate mode — but not this way... -

I'm drawing over path with the pencil tool (Wacom tablet)
Older version of Illustrator was smoother more accurate and natural flowing. Now creates jagged lines. -

When using the pencil tool to edit existing lines, instead of a smooth transition at the start and end of the edit, it's always a little jagged no matter how carefully I draw it. Toggling and using the smooth tool afterwards helps, but that adds an extra step every time I use this tool to edit lines. The 2020 version didn't have this problem, and I compared my pencil tool settings between the two versions and they were the same. Even tweaking the settings on the 2021 pencil tool doesn't resolve the issue.
Pic attached showing a line after I edited it once with the pencil tool, being careful to make smooth movements while drawing, and the beginning and end of the edit (circled in red) have a little wiggle (it's tiny but very crucial in the scale I work in!). This wiggle would have been automatically smoothed out in previous Illustrator versions.

The Pencil Tool is just adding tons of random points regardless of the setting on the Fidelity slider. I'm currently running Big Sur 11.2.2 and the latest Illustrator version 25.2. I hoped the latest update would fix this issue. As it is the Pencil Tool is totally useless for freehand drawing.
