Illustrator 2021
The bug is ILLUSTRATOR 2021 itself.
- tried to save as bitmap to discover that finally the "save for web "option is gone - OK, but the "Export as" can't resize the picture and doesn't perform the action because "it's too big". So? How can I save the image? I open it with Photoshop but no, Photoshop "can't detect EPS data". Photoshop. You invented EPS. And you can't read an Illustrator-created EPS.
I work with Illustrator since 1.0. I feel like timewarped back into pre-history. Please rename the bug (=Illustrator 2021) with a proper name: Illustrator 2021 BC.

Thank you for helping, I went out somehow from the urge and days have passed. Now magically I see the "save for web" option where you say and honestly I don't remember if I looked for it in the wrong place at the time or if for some reason it wasn't active.
I used EPS because I received an EPS.
This doesn't eliminate my rant anyway, because I find that the interface is going towards getting less simple and things that were easy in the past have become difficult (opening some standard formats, etc). Computer science didn't get more complicated but simpler. Adobe software is in counter-trend, getting clunkier when the world around gets simpler. -
Well, something is definitely broke...
I can see the Save For Web option right there in File > Export menu. Yeah, it is called 'legacy', but nobody removed it specifically. I use 25.4.1 — do you have the same version?Nicola, can you share the file to sharewithai@adobe.com? Upload it somehwere and share a link if it’s too big.
Also, try to workaround this, if it’s crucial to export now — save as PDF or Ai with PDF-compatibility and then try to import it to Photoshop.
An I wonder why do you use EPS at all?
I wish I could help you more, but without the file it's not possible I am afraid.
