Missing Files Dialogue keeps re-appearing
The missing files dialogue keeps re-appearing after exactly 10 seconds, despite me selecting "No" for the following message;
"Some files are missing or modified in the Links panel. Would you like to update them now?"
Using Illustrator 26.0 64-bit on Windows 10.

There is sometimes the rare occasion when I don't want to update modified links in an Illustrator file. Illustrator will ask: "Some links are missing or modified in the Links panel. Would you like to update them now?" If I say "No", here's what happens:
1. If I switch to another application and then back to Illustrator, the dialog will reappear immediately.
2. If I switch to another Illustrator window, the dialog will reappear immediately.
3. If I don't switch anything, but keep on working in the same Illustrator window, the dialog will reappear after about 30-60 seconds.
If I tell Illustrator not to update the links, it should not ask me again, or at least not for a long time.
This is still an issue in 2023. Please fix this. The solutions to update or remove the offending image are not a true solution. Sometimes a link is broken because the file was intentionally removed or deleted, but it's useful to keep the broken link image on long enough to add a replacement image and size/position correctly. However, this glitch causes this popup to appear if I try to drag any new image files onto the project and cancels the placement.
Please make it stop

I just started having this issue yesterday and can't get any work done. It's driving me NUTS. The links have not been modified and are not missing.
Illustrator is up to date. Not sure if it matters, but I'm on a Macbook M1 Max 2021.

Can't get any work done with the links panel popping up every 30 seconds to tell me that my links are modified or missing - I know that they are - and I do not care

I solved going to Window > Link. Click on the missing link, relink for any file, then its solved.

Problem not resolved.
This is still happening even after the most recent update and it is almost impossible to get anything done. PLEASE FIX THIS
Angie, it’s a workaround, but not the solution.
Most of the time I need those links, it’s just I don’t want to update them **yet**. After I am done with edits, I am OK with getting them updated ...but Ai should not bother me with that question all over again if I choose not to and don’t make any changes to a linked file!

I figured out how to do this and can I just say how proud of myself I am? lol You go to "Window", then scroll down to "Links", then you should see the "links panel" open, click on one of the links (maybe double click - my bad ones had a red image in them) and then click on the "go to link" icon and it will show up in your document, click on the item and delete it. Once you've deleted all the bad/old links, the dialogue window should stop.

I keep getting a error message saying I have missing files for every file I open or create in AI.
Illustrator constantly asks if I want to relink broken images, however, there is no indication of which image is broken, and no name shows up when this happens. If the ignore button is clicked, the window will show up again later (seemingly the next time the mouse leaves the window and comes back.) This is extremely annoying if working on multiple monitors.

Option for not showing alert message again for updating missing/modified links. The message keeps showing up every few seconds or every time I switch between adobe cc apps. (Ai ver.26.0 | windows 10)
Yes, it started to behave like this for me too.
Every time I move or scale a linked file in my document, the alert comes up that says "Some files are missing or modified in the Links panel. Would you like to update them now?". I have the files in a specific folder and it happens with every file, every time I do anything with the layer in Illustrator v24.01 MacOS Cataline 10.15.1
