CMYK Files Colors are Displaying as RGB in Illustrator 2022 Version 26.0.1
(Illustrator 2022) Open a new CMYK file, create a box, color Breakdown "87-75-0-0 "select the same CMYK color Breakdown "87-75-0-0 " (In Color Picker) that is clearly showing a darker color then what is behind the open select box.
Screen Shot 2
Open a new CMYK file in Illustrator (2021). Same process as above, now CMYK colors appear correct.
If this happens for you, make sure you have the same color settings setup in both versions (Edit > Color Settings).

Thank you Egor. That Solved the issue. During the new 2022 Illustrator install, I guess it didn't import all my preferences as that was not set properly. Or maybe it's not part of the preference. Either Way Solved.

Chad, can you check Color Settings (Edit > Color Settings) used in both Ai versions? Do they match?
I can’t reproduce that still, same as Lance :(
Must be machine specific. Do you mind having a staff member have a look at your machine directly? -

Either your instructions for replicating this issue aren't clear enough, or my installation of illustrator 2022 on windows 10 does not suffer from this bug.
1. open new CMYK file
2. draw box with rectangle shape tool
3. assign CMYK colors in Color panel as 87-75-0-0
4. deselect box
5. select a different color swatch in the swatches panel
6. open color picker and enter CMYK numbers as 87-75-0-0
7. color is visual match to that used to fill the box from step 3.I cannot duplicate the appearance difference even if I change the document color mode to RGB and start over at step 1. They still look the same, as in your AI 2021 screenshot.
