Keyboard Shortcuts (hotkeys) get reset to blanks when Illustrator is updated to 2023
All typical mac menu commands are not working in Illustrator 2023. Command 0, Command +, command N etc. are not working.

After I updated to the most recent version, ctrl+C no longer centers text, ctrl+D no longer duplicates. There are others but those are the two I use most often. Any tips on how to get these shortcuts back?

Glad it got solved, but not happy with the actual fact your hotkeys got lost :( Since this is a bug indeed, I rename the issue then, to help other users to find it and upvote.
Thanks for reporting this! And if use use custom keyboard shortcuts, save it with a different name, locate the file in Finder and make a backup, just in case this happens again. Since we can’t trust Ai on this :(

Ok. So it works ok if you do a completely new install. By that I mean do not keep previous preferences.
If I check to keep prefs from other versions, it does not transfer correctly.

I think I may have figured it out.
Out of the box, the menu commands in illustrator shortcuts are all empty!!!
i may try reinstalling it. -

Yes. I just updated to 2023 and now they do not work. They work properly in Photoshop and InDesign as expected.
I have checked my keyboard settings, reset ill preferences etc.
When I hit the command key all it does is shows me the current tool down at the bottom.
Very odd.
I think it is glitchy. I even used the menu to say File/New and it did nothing.
Restarted mac and app as well. -
Denise, can you please elaborate a bit more?
1. Were these working fine in a previous version?
2. Have you checked if these specific commands have assigned hotkeys in Keyboards Shortcuts?
3. Do you use any other apps which can intercept hotkeys with their own, like buffer and screenshot managers, cloud clients, browser extensions? Can you check it and try to close everything else but Illustrator?
