This same font nightmare just started happening to me within the last couple hours. ALL fonts in all files have been replaced with whatever-in-the-world-font-is-on-my-machine. I'm on a Mac and I've tried running several versions of Illustrator all the way down to 2024 versions, and same thing. I've restarted my 2025 Mac Studio and nothing is fixing this catastrophe. I don't have the time to manually replace the hundreds of font instances all over my files.

As of about 20 minutes ago, and after almost losing my mind, and after opening a particular file over and over and over on several different iMacs (from 2020 to 2025 machines) and using several different versions of Illustrator (from 2021 to 2025), SUDDENLY the font replacement issue is gone, and everything is back to normal!!! The automatic font replacement issue lasted for about 2-3 hours (2-3 wasted hours of freaking out) and now everything is just fine. WHAT-IN-THE-WORLD was that about???

This just occurred with me as well (like within the last hour!)! This is maddening and it's completely shutting everything I do down! ALL my fonts and typefaces have been replaced in every single file I work with.

@Egor, links? None. I rarely if ever use links. The issue is not document dependent, as it occurs with any Illustrator file I attempt to open.
Today, however, I am having no issues at all, yet. Perhaps all that was needed was a machine restart?

I am having THE EXACT SAME ADOBE ERROR-BUG! Wow this is ridiculously stupid! PLEASE FIX IT ADOBE!
I have to repeatedly quit Illustrator (about every 15-30 minutes ALL DAY LONG!) and relaunch to get the correct cursor tool-icon to appear, and it doesn't matter if I use keyboard shortcuts or click on the tool in the tool bar. It's been happening for the last five or so years!!! ...with every single latest updated version of Illustrator! It doesn't matter what Mac, what macOS, the problem persists, and IT'S INCREDIBLY AGGRAVATING!!! Does Adobe have any good engineers left?

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

I am happy to share that ‘Auto spell-check’ feature has been shipped in the latest version of Illustrator. Here is how to enable/disable it in the latest release : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2020.html#spellcheck

You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

We have released the support for Gradient swatches in CC library with our latest release - v29.3
You can select the gradient swatch in swatches panel and add it to CC Library through the button on the bottom bar in the panel. You can also select any object which has gradient applied and add that gradient to CC Library through Add Elements from the Libraries panel and choose Fill Gradient from the drop-down menu.
Please update to this version from your Creative Cloud Desktop application and let us know your feedback.

Now that the DOJ has created a DEADLINE for ADA WCAG compliance (April 24 2026), having a tool and or functionality to test and determine Accessibility compliance within an Illustrator document is PARAMOUNT!!!

Hi ,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you're facing. Unfortunately, we are unable to reproduce it on our end. To help us investigate further, could you please provide the following details:
- Wacom tablet configuration (model and driver version)
- When you first noticed the issue
- Is the issue consistently reproducible? (i.e., does it happen every time?)
- Machine's OS and GPU specifications
If possible, it would also be helpful if you could share a short recording of the issue, or let us know if you're available for a debug session. This will enable us to resolve the problem more promptly.
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to assisting you.
Regards,
Aishwarya G Gadodia
