Illustrator 2023 crashes when clicking the scroll bar in the font selection dialog
Ever since I installed Illustrator 2023 the entire program will hang when using the mouse, trackpad or wacom pen to select the scroll bar in the font selection drop down menu
Fonts can still be chosen using the cursor keys to navigate up and down. Previous versions of Illustrator are still working as expected so I haven't been able to track down a corrupt font.
I have tried a uninstall/reinstall and resetting of preferences. Nothing seems to work.
This is on an M1 Mac (but also has replicated on an Intel Macbook Pro both on MacOS Monterey.

Yes. There is no sign of any betas on my CC app.

Russ, strange... M1-s do have it too.
Are you sure you can’t select Beta apps in the left sidebar of the Apps panel in your Creative Cloud desktop app? -

A beta isn't showing up for me on an M1 Mac. I think it doesn't populate for us.
Just to confirm I tried it with all default fonts by using "fontrestore default" in the Terminal.
Nothing came back as a problem.
Even tried it with every font in my user folder manually moved. Still gets the same result.

Yes, it is available on Macs. You can install one via Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Yes. This happens in the Type>Chraracter panel too. And properties.
To be specific it only occurs when clicking and dragging. When just scrolling or tapping the scroll bar it doesn't hang. It behaves in exactly the same way in each panel.
I have tried stripping my user fonts to zero and just keeping the system fonts and it behaves the same.
This behaviour doesn't occur in 2021 or 2022.
I haven't tried the beta. I didn't even know there was one available for the Mac.

Russ, what happens if you try to scroll the same list, but not in the Character panel, but in Control or Properties? or in the Type > Font menu?
Can you confirm this bug does not happen in version 2022?
Can you also check if the latest Beta has the same problem?
Have you tried to temporarily remove/disable all the fonts you have except for the basic set and see if it is caused by a certain font?
