Problem with gradient mesh created in InDesign
Why is it that when I open a PDF created in InDesign with a gradient mesh, in Illustrator, the mesh becomes a solid fill?

It seems like the stroke is flipped and becomes a fill, right...
The reason is that (and here I have to quote) — Illustrator is not a general PDF editor. When you try to 'open' a PDF, specifically made with another up, Ai does not open it, but IMPORTS it.
PDF can include all sorts of object Illustrator does not support (it’s just not its native format): video, interactive elements, forms... To be fair, PDF can’t hold some elements Ai works with as well, and these get expanded.Hard to tell what’s wrong here without diving in. Can you also share the .indd file with these lines in it only, for the engineers to look upon?
