29.5.2 MacOS 15.5 M3 Performance degrades over time, after extended use.
Working with the any file, the performance degrades over time. 30min-1 hour it becomes noticeable. CPU slowly move up as time progresses from 10% to 100%. File becomes so slow that it takes 2-3 second for typed text to appear. A restart of AI fixes it.
Files are not point-heavy nor do they have complicated effects.

Hello Keith,
You can share the file and screen recording with this mail ID : sharewithai@adobe.com

@ Avinash, How can I DM you a file and screen recording?

Thanks Keith. Will wait for you to revert.

Give me a couple of days to get a good example along with better details. I can provide a simplified file at that point.

Hi Keith, Is it possible for you to share a smaple file? .To clarify on the file sharing - even a simplified version of one of your affected files would be extremely helpful for our engineering team to reproduce and debug this type engine issue. If you have any concerns about sharing, we can also arrange a screen sharing session where you could demonstrate the slowdown while we observe the performance metrics on our end.

Concerning the type engine, I recently noticed the alert when editing text on older files (v27): "This text was created in a different version of Illustrator. Editing the text may cause some changes to your text layout. Basic formatting will not be affected. Do you want to continue?"
May be nothing, just hadn't been seeing it until recently but then again, these files are from a variety of outside sources.
My files are mainly text with very few points.

Changes to the type engine happen all the time, it’s constant WIP... I can’t say these should affect performance... But why do you ask? Are you seeing something or just hypothesize this can matter?

It happened on MacOS 15.4 as well.
And the previous Illustrator release.
Files are under 10MB. Current file I'm working with is 6.1MB.
Files do not have many points. They are text based labels so they are mostly text blocks on basic rectangles.
Nothing / no action directly causes the slowdown. It simply arises over use.Did Illustrator recently make an update to the type engine?

This is certainly not acceptable, and we take it seriously — especially as we’re actively working to improve Illustrator’s performance and stability across all platforms.
To help us investigate this further, could you please share a few additional details?
• Approximately how large are the files you’re working with (in MB)?
• Are there any specific actions or tools that seem to trigger the slowdown faster?
• Does the issue occur only with M3 devices on macOS 15.5, or have you seen this on other hardware or OS versions?
• If possible, could you share one of the affected files (with sensitive content removed)?Your input will help our engineering team narrow this down and prioritize a fix.
