Tilde key for transforming patterns moves the whole shape instead of the fill clipped to it
Holding down the tilde key ~ when direct selecting a pattern filled object used to give you the option to interactively transform the pattern inside the object. It would override the transform settings for patterns and give you a live preview when transforming (move/scale/rotate) the pattern only.
This behaves different when moving the pattern in the 2025 and 2026 versions. It will move the object and the pattern and snap the object back when the mouse is released.

When moving a pattern with tilde and direct selection (open arrow) illustrator now erroneously live previews movement of the entire shape along with the pattern rather than just the pattern inside the shape. This is bugged behavior in 29.8.2 and needs to be fixed. Tilde + Rotate or scale work correctly—Tilde + move is bugged.

Works smoothly for Rotate and Scale tools, but not for Direct Selection. The pattern moves, but not WITH the object, not WITHIN it, like before.
