Illustrator crash on relinking image
Windows 11, all Adobe software up to date, Illustrator 30.2.1 (64-bit)
Raster artwork in my Illustrator files is stored in a folder adjacent to my Illustrator folder. Occasionally, I must insert a file into the numbering structure, so the raster artwork becomes 'orphaned'. So, when I open the Illustrator file, I get the relink artwork dialogue box. If I hit relink, a relink box appears, followed instantly by a Gaussian blur dialogue box with a 100% blue bar, and Illustrator freezes, requiring a shutdown via Task Manager.
If I reset my preferences (a 2-minute job using AG Astute Manager), it solves the issue for 1 or 2 files, but then it returns. The workaround is to click ignore and then relink the image manually, but it's a pain when fixing many files.

Egor, no, there is no Gaussian blur in any of the documents. Often it can be an Illustrator file with just a single raster, photo or illustration (a seemingly illogical thing to do, but it's a filing convention to keep track of thousands of files; if an illustration is featured twice in the publication, I even keep two copies so the numbers tally).
Approximately 50% of my Illustrator files contain raster artwork, and once it fails, it fails on all of them. From memory, it's sometimes another progress box that pops up (not Gaussian blur), but the lock-up is the same.
I'll keep an eye on it and maybe put together a package as you suggest, though that might be tricky.

Andrew, but does anything in the document have Gaussian Blur at all?
Use the AG’s Live Effect Explorer, if you are not sure.
Then, I’d start studying it, by making a copy of the document and removing the content piece by piece, to find the least amount of stuff to make it happen.
Then, I’d try to reproduce it in the new file.
Either way, the team would need to have the full project, with all the links needed to make it happen, with full steps described (and better recorded).
A safe way to share these would be to send the package along with full OS and hardware specs, over to sharewithai@adobe.com, with the link to this report mentioned — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51113062
