Drop shadows in .ai files hide original object
When drop shadows are applied to placed images and the file is saved, only the drop shadow shows up both in the preview on MacOS, as well as when importing to InDesign or Photoshop. RGB or CMYK (in Illustrator) doesn't matter, the placed object is always missing.

The file is attached. The file with the issue is Warp 99 Hyperdrive card set 3.ai. I also included an Indesign file where the file was placed.
The file was saved as an illustrator (.ai) file with the options shown in the attached screenshot.

Ted, can you please share the exact settings used to save a file, a simple test file itself, and mention the exact build numbers for all the apps?
