  1. v25.4 Changed ID format for items with same name when saving SVGs

    Do this on both v25.3.1 with v25.4 (Both Mac, Windows):
    Assuming Identify Objects By Object Name is on.
    1) Create new document
    2) Create two items (e.g. rectangle)
    3) Rename rectangles to same name
    4) Save SVG (not export)

    Expected format from v25.3.1:
    <rect id="rect_1_" ...
    <rect id="rect" ...

    Actual v25.4 output:
    <rect id="rect_00000161598596446820662850000009930553674419257219_" ...
    <rect id="rect"

    We have clients who have CSS selectors that dynamically change the SVG, so now they can't update their designs in our system because it breaks the CSS selectors.

    Afterwards, changing "Identify Objects By" shows that same ID name in the layers panel.

    Bonjour. Je travaille sous Windows 10 avec Illustrator 2021. Voici mon problème : Comment empêcher plusieurs personnes d'être sur le même fichier Illustrator ?
    Une collègue travaille sur un fichier. Je peux ouvrir ce même fichier, faire une modification, enregistrer. Ma collègue fini ses modifications et enregistre. Ma modification est perdue. Rien ne me signale que quelqu'un travaille déjà sur un fichier!

  3. You removed the ability to paste text into the file name - this saved typing errors for complex names

    Forever we have been able to copy and paste in the name of the file into the file name.

    you removed that - its really bad - now it is another place errors occur.

    why remove something good?

  4. Error on trying to save *.ai to older version CS4 from AI application version 25.2.2.

    I have Illustrator application version 25.2.2 (build 255) on Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) with AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100.
    When I tried to save a specific *.ai file to older version "CS4", I got the error.
    What should I do to resolve?

  5. Disparition des plans de travail

    Bonjour, depuis la mise à jour en 25.4.1 une fois un document contenant plusieurs plans de travail, enregistré, au moment de la réouverture de ce document tous les plans de travail on disparus 😩
    Il ne reste que des "Repères du plan de travail" sur un nouveau calque !

    Très contrariant car mon travail est beaucoup basé sur cette fonction.

  6. Partial File Saves V 26.0.609 Large Files

    I end up with some large files. Two in particular in the last day are not saved correctly. Partial read file only. 34 mb file and larger.

  7. Save for web is locked at 1585px. I can resize it lower, but I can not get larger image. Original file size is 2800px. Howto get rid ofthis?

  8. Exporting svg through "export selection" bug issue

    I had a logo that had text converted to outline. So it was a shape. ( when you select an object and you go to file> Export Selection and choose .svg ) The letter "O" shifted, see screen shots.

  9. Black Showing Up in AI Preview

    I'm working on macOS Big Sur 11.4
    3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
    32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3
    AMD FirePro D500 3 GB

    I'm creating packaging dielines, and the white areas on my dielines show up as black in the AI preview and in the Mac preview (the colors appear normal in Adobe Acrobat). The printer is printing the wrong version with the black in place of white, and I don't know how to fix the file for the printer.   10. illustrator crashes 25.3.1 when saving files

    Illustrator crashes when saving to server or trying to open files from server. Iv had more success dragging files directly into illustrator from finder as opposed to using file>open. Also, having issues with illustrator saying that some files are locked when i try to open. using new iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021) version 11.4

  11. Illustrator 2021 won't reopen files that are saved as and returns error - reboot necessary - iMac M1

    I have the lastest 2021 version of Illustrator (25) on Apple's newest iMac M1
    and Mac OS Big Sur 11.4

    I often save files as templates (option "save as") and I've noticed that:
    - When I save a file as or
    - Export a file under a certain format (even PDFs at times)

    Coming back to the original document isn't possible, upon opening, the following dialog box appears (see screen shot) and at that point, a reboot is necessary to make this possible.

    My files are located on a NAS but I am not convinced the NAS is incriminated in…

  13. Illustrator auto added a level 1 layer to wrap all layers after saving as SVG.

    1. Windows 10.
    2. Adobe Illustrator 25.2.1.
    3. Save any .ai file that has multiple layers as SVG then open the saved SVG file with Illustrator .
    4. Expected: Keep the same layers as the ai file. Actual result:All layers were wrapped by a new layer automatically.

  14. 別名保存でファイル名入力時に特定のキーコンビネーションで見えない特殊文字が挿入されCC同期エラー

    MacOS BigSur11.4 / Illustrator2021 v25.2.3

    Illustrator別名保存でファイル名入力時に、
    意図せず[control]+[option]が押されることで、
    表示できない特殊文字が入り、CC同期でエラーになる
    上記コンビネーションで、文字が入力されないようにしてほしい。

  15. Open dialog box Dimmed items that open

    When opening files, and navigating with the Open window to a new folder. There are times items that clearly will open but are dimmed. Even folders have been shown dimmed today. Same with last version of Beta.

  16. shadowing of spot-overprinting-die-line in 4 color work after saving as PDF from Illustrator

    Customers Illustrator 2021, 4 color work has a spot color die overprinting. When saving PDF with all layers the die-line cast what looks like a burn area of die.

  17. Illustrator crashes, hitting enter when importing a file

    When choosing a file to import and you hit the enter button on the keyboard the whole app crashes ... impossible to do anything it just freezes and makes my whole Mac mini M1 freeze!!!!!

    And if you have an other adobe app open this one will freeze too!

    Please fix this, it's huge problem

  18. Bug with text with DXF exported from Illustrator

    With the new update 25.2.3 I have problems exporting DXF files from Illustrator.

    Each time I do it the texts change of size to a very, very small one.

    I export graphics to use them in Automatized Cut Machines but the texts do not appear in the right size. I had to keep and old version of illustrator 25.0 in order to be able to still use those machines.

    What can I do?

  19. SVG Export - Compound Paths Cause Performance Issues & Unexpected Results

    Windows 10, Illustrator 25.2.3 | System info attached and repro file attached.

    There are 2 artboards and asset exports defined in the file.

    They are the same illustration with 1 difference - the "grouped" version has a set of paths grouped together, and the "compound" version has those same paths combined into a compound path.

    I ran 3 test exports with my repro file, increasing paths: first 500 paths, then 1000 paths, and finally 1500 paths. Here's the export times:

  20. Export as SVG should respect all-caps style on text

    Text in Illustrator file set with All-Caps style. When export as SVG, the style is lost. Either the style should be preserved, or, during export, the case should be hard-coded into the text (e.g. "Hello" styled as all-caps becomes "HELLO").
