   Well, yes, I can also see this issue with my old German Illustrator CS6 on Windows 10.
   Not with Illustrator 2022 version 26.3.1.

   Just to add: Another version of the script done by a different forum member also had issues when run from an action. It did without issues when run from File > Scripts

   I tested this other version with Illustrator 2022 and Illustrator CS6 on the same Windows 10 machine. Both had the same bad results with actions. And no issues with File > Scripts.

   My tests were done with German versions of Illustrator on Windows 10.

   in the moment you touch the bounding box of that path the object gets selected.
   ( Different behavior in InDesign. )

    Well, yes, I agree with Doug and Kurt:
    "The command is misleading and may cause a lot of trouble. "

    This command should be named perhaps "Delete Hidden Items" where I am not sure if everyone will understand that with "Items" also layers and sublayers are meant.

    This functionality has been shipped in June-2021 version of Illustrator.

    The option "Paste without Formatting (Alt+Ctrl+V)’ has been added to the ‘Edit’ Menu.

    Hi together,
    I see this issue resolved with my German InDesign 2020 version 15.0.0.155.
    NOT SO with Adobe Illustrator 2020 version 24.0.

    Still Adobe Illustrator is placing TIFF images as PNG images if the TIFF images are stored as assets in a CC Library.
