Here is a fresh report when a user just didn’t realize what happened and how to fix it: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/48781703
I bet this is going to be a common problem. An error occurred while saving the comment Regarding the comments below — after using it several times, having an artboard suddenly scaled with the artwork feels bad.
We are so used it can’t do that, and the pressed button is so small...
I still occasionally discover Move/Copy Artwork with Artboard gets selected on its own, and I still miss to check it from time to time!
So yeah, an idea to reinforce both these modes somehow indeed makes sense. An error occurred while saving the comment Steve, why would you need to distinguish these modes more? Trying to resize one would inform you clearly enough, wouldn’t it?
As I see it, just a color of the perimeter won’t be any more informative than a pressed button in Control. An error occurred while saving the comment Bardia, it has some problems with consistency across different selections and proportions. The team had to revoke it to reiterate on the feature. It is yet unknown when it returns. If anything pops up — I will update the thread.
An error occurred while saving the comment If you have a problem with the art being forcefully resized with their scaled artboard, although no button so far is given to control it, resetting preferences helps reset the internal switch to the way it supposed to behave for now — no scaling.
This feature will return later, needs more polishing. An error occurred while saving the comment Glendon, the ratio will be constrained if you hold Shift while dragging the artboard’s corner marker ...or hitting Ctrl+Enter while entering a value to width or height (oh, wait, it does not work: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/45420100)
If you want to scale an artboard NON-uniformly, but have objects scaled UNIFORMLY — well. How do you expect Ai to treat distances between objects then? To nail them to the artboard/s by the chosen reference point? And if the objects is not groupped? This will spread its part across the distance, right?
It's like this scene from The Expanse — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEAvhNZmego
I doubt you want that. -

Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
An error occurred while saving the comment I suppose it can be a traced image... and then the mode for the fills of it it getting set into Grayscale in the Color panel, and Ai honestly keeps it honored...
There is a dedicated bug report about it here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/45087145
Please comment back if that was the case or still is. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Sometimes I feel like Serif reads these forums, because Affinity Designer now HAS this as an option, 'Limit initial zoom to a maximum of 100%', in Settings > General.

If it does not — can you share the specs of the machine you are using? -

Resizing a constrained proportion shape not accurate to input
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/42115396An error occurred while saving the comment Dave, can you reproduce this problem with latest builds of Illustrator?
If it still does, can you check if toggling Use Preview Bounds option in Preferences > General changes anything? Also — does it matter if you have or not any live shapes in your selection?
Sadly, the links to the videos are long gone, so I can’t check the exact steps. -

Illustrator TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment @lewis, I wonder if you still have this problem in the latest builds of Ai.
The only thing that comes to my mind when I read the description is that you accidentally enabled the Object Selection by Path Only option in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display section... but in this case you would not be able to select it by clicking a fill... -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, Shift works only when we create or reapply a gradient, but not when we try to reposition an existing one.

Please send the file and all the details to sharewithai@adobe.com for the team to review
An error occurred while saving the comment @ab, it’s hard to tell anything without looking at the exact file you are trying to print and the settings you try to set for it. It can also depends on the printer model and the driver version.

An error occurred while saving the comment Theresa, that’s strange. I have a Windows 11 24H2 machine, and I have Ai installed on it, and it runs normally.
What does CCD say exactly when you try to install it? -

Disabling AMD Adrenaline seems to solve the issue for now. Please comment if it works or doesn’t work for you if you had a similar problem and upvote.
An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for the heads up, José Denis. While it’s not exactly a final solution, I am putting it as a workaround in the current status for this report.

Does toggling View > Preview on CPU change anything? An error occurred while saving the comment Am I getting this right — when you open an existing file or create a new document, the canvas is black and no document is displayed?
Can you share a screenshot, please, or even a video? What does Ai says in Preferences > Performance, does it recognize the GPU? -

Anders, please share a test file and the exact setting and the method you use to export an image.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep. At the moment the only native way to do it is to isolate an object before starting to select its points first, and then to shift-marquee with Direct Selection tool to invert selection, like the attached GIF shows.
The other solution would be PathScribe plugin panel by Astute Graphics. It has a dedicated Invert Point Selection command.
It’s good to have it, but I really wish for this to respect Scale Strokes & Effects option. For now Scale Artwork with Artboard behaves as if it’s always enabled... I realize scaling strokes is natural for this mode, but the current way means if we need to scale an artboard, but NOT scale the strokes — we can’t do that.
It almost feels like it should be a separate option specifically for it.
