I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. The latest Beta 28.7.0.45 finally offers transparency support.
Transparent background is no longer traced as white in color presets '3 Colors', '6 Colors', '16 Colors', 'Low Fidelity Photo' and 'High Fidelity Photo'.
Not (yet hopefully) supported for Black & White based presets.
Partial transparency is not supported and will lead to incorrect colors for these regions. Overlapping path method will also result in incorrect object appearance.
Note also this build introduced Logical Grouping of paths in output when expanded — to hopefully allow easier editing,

It is almost impossible to work with point handles. I have to use smart guides, which I really don't like. Selection tolerance does not work for handles selection. I am on Windows OS and 4k monitor. Please fix this annoying bug!

It turns out the file in the original report has a singular Latin 'o' mixed into the Cyrillic text, and this makes it break without a hyphen.
The font team notifies that Unicode standart prescribes to not break between two scripts that use spaces as word breaks, so this problem can fixed sometimes later, when the team revises their reflow strategy.
As for now, be notified it’s a very narrow case, and is a good sign that your text has homoglyphs in it.

It is expected to have this bug fixed in the latest version, 27.4. Please test if it works fine for you and comment back.

This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Color Model selection for JPG is available in Export For Screens -> Advanced settings. Illustrator will allow you to choose - RGB, CMYK or Grayscale color model.
