Hi Everyone,
The fix has been rolled out and is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.
What’s new in 24.1: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/whats-new.html
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.
An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedI need to point out that this bug ONLY happens when you use a clipping mask in the layers panel and not through right click → make clipping mask, object → clipping mask → make clipping mask or draw inside.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create two shapes on top of each other and select both.
2. Go to the layers panel and click Make/Release Clipping Mask.
3. Click Export As...Actual Result:
Clipping mask is not shown on the exported image.Expected result:
Clipping mask to be shown on the exported image. An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedThe same happens when you copy from Illustrator to Photoshop. Super annoying!

This issue is probably happening because the artboard dimensions are not appropriate for raster export (i.e. are in decimals).
If you make x and y values as the whole numbers in the transform panel (not in decimal), then the extra pixels will not be added to the exported image. That is the workaround, and it’s reported that it’s not always the case.
At the same time — Ai knows the size of artboards to be exported and yet it does not deliver the set sizes, which is not fair. The team is going to rethink the algorithm.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedWe need a fix to this. Option to align to whole XY coordinates or just make it pixel perfect anyway.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedMany times when exporting an image file, Illustrator creates a blurry line near the edge of the image, even if the design extends all the way to the edge. Sometimes an extra pixel is added to the exported file. This is because the artboard is not set to a whole number intersection (XY coordinates having decimals). You can re-align your artboard to a whole number intersection to avoid this, but it can take a very long time to do manually when you work with multiple artboards. A solution would be an option for snapping the artboard to whole XY number intersections. This will ensure perfect pixel exports and you don't have to worry about it anymore. We need a solution to ths. Exports should ALWAYS be pixel perfect even though XY coordinates are not whole. Make it snap or make it pixel perfect anyway.

We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 23.0.
Please refer to our knowledge base FAQ – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1844590 if you face difficulty in update.
Or get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.htmlWarm Regards,

Adobe. Make It an Experience. An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedThe problem is that there is no option to snap to whole pixels in XY coordinates. This can make it add an extra pixel when exporting. Please fix.

The ability to convert outline text into live text will be available through the 'Retype' feature we recently shipped. The released version can identify fonts for now. Soon it will allow you to edit it as well. More details: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/retype.html
An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedEven Apple has this now as a basic feature in iOS where you can copy text from images. This should be in illustrator already.

The recently announced change pushed into Beta 28.6.578 refers to this similar request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35253820
The users can now use save custom presets within the Saved tab in the New Document dialog (modern one, not the legacy one). Please provide the dedicated feedback there.
As for the ability to change the existing predefined sizes for each document profile (Print, Web, etc,), like A1, A5, etc, — this is not yet available. Stay tuned and sorry for the misfire.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedHi Egor. Not sure what you mean with "there is no clear way to do that"? You already have blank document presents like A4, Poster etc. Why can't you just add common social media templates as well?
Another thing, the saved tab makes no sense because when I create a custom template and save it, it does not appear in the saved tab.
We need our custom templates to appear when we want to create a new document.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedInDesign has this in place, and so should Illustrator :)
When you import an image file into Illustrator and copy it, it will make a new copy, instead of a new instance. If you work on a file where an image file is included multiple times, the Illustrator file itself often becomes too large.
This would never have happened if the duplicates of the image file were instances instead of copies.
It is also impossible to relink duplicates of the same image when they are copies. You have to do it manually. It's both time-consuming and outdated.
Turning the image file into a symbol is not much of help either as it still creates a new link in the links panel!
Do as in InDesign. It will help reduce file sizes and improve performance!

An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedEgor Chistyakov:
The option missing is an input for angle. Right now you have to do it manually and there is also no way to hold down shift to lock it at 45 degrees.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedThis is very much needed! It would also be very nice if the circle can be changed to an oval shape aswell.

Illustrator Beta now offers a dedicated Objects on Path construct to allow some basic distribution operations for selected objects and a chosen path. So far it allows uniform distribution only, global rotation and global pivot control, widget to control these on canvas, attaching and detaching (including isolation operations).
This is not an extension of Type on Path, but a separate type of object. The text can be used with it, but will be treated as a separate object, not per-character.
I assume some would be happy to have it and get it improved later. Pasting an object into a text, however, is still a needed thing, and is a different request — Inline Graphics / Anchor Object to text ability (like InDesign) — please upvote it if you find it useful.
As for this new object type — kindly try in Illustrator Beta and provide your feedback, so the team…

An error occurred while saving the comment Hans commentedNEEDED! It would also be nice the circle can be changed to an oval shape, similar to how you make a radial gradient oval.

When you copy paste to Photoshop, the issue STILL occurs. Is this a Photoshop or Illustrator issue?
