It would be very useful if we can get inputs to adjust angle/rotation and option to shift lock rotation changes to 45 degrees.

This is very much needed! It would also be very nice if the circle can be changed to an oval shape aswell.

Illustrator Beta now offers a dedicated Objects on Path construct to allow some basic distribution operations for selected objects and a chosen path. So far it allows uniform distribution only, global rotation and global pivot control, widget to control these on canvas, attaching and detaching (including isolation operations).
This is not an extension of Type on Path, but a separate type of object. The text can be used with it, but will be treated as a separate object, not per-character.
I assume some would be happy to have it and get it improved later. Pasting an object into a text, however, is still a needed thing, and is a different request — Inline Graphics / Anchor Object to text ability (like InDesign) — please upvote it if you find it useful.
As for this new object type — kindly try in Illustrator Beta and provide your feedback, so the team…

NEEDED! It would also be nice the circle can be changed to an oval shape, similar to how you make a radial gradient oval.

The latest Illustrator build (v29.2) now offers a way to see the distances between a selected object and an object hovered over / edges of an artboard.
- Click on the object you want to measure the distance from
- Press Opt/Alt and hover over the object that you want to measure distance to
- You can also hover over empty area to see the distance from the selected object and the artboard boundaries
Please try it and come back with the feedback.

It's crazy how this doesn't exist in Illustrator!

Hi Everyone, This feature has been available since August 2020 release (version 24.3). Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html Thank you for all the feedback.
You can now select multiple layers in Layers panel. Click the bars (they get highlighted blue) if you want to operate layers and not their content (e.g. to drag to reorder) or click their markers to select their content — circle (target ones) or square (selection ones) next to them. There is no real difference which to pick, but if you want to select a range of layers, using Shift, use target markers.

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

I think it's only in GPU mode. If you choose "view using CPU" it disappears. Can this issue be fixed in GPU mode? Kind of annoying and CPU mode is way too slow for me.

Hi friends! I have some great news for your today. Rotate View (Canvas) feature is available in Illustrator 25.3 (Desktop) now. Thank you all for your feedback which helped us shape up this feature.

Adobe come on. You have added slicing and other web/digital functions to illustrator that no one is using, but not rotate art board? This is crucial for illustration, typography and packaging design and Illustrator is the number one tool for that kind of work. This is more important than creating a mobile version of illustrator.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.2.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

I want to point out that this only happens when you have more than one document open at the same time. Weird!

This is the worst bug I've ever come across in Illustrator. Just WOW. This needs a fix asap.

Recolor now can be used for Freeform gradients correctly, allowing access to all colors used in it.

Thanks Lukas. Adobe, please see comment below!

Just wanted to add that it works perfectly fine to recolor a gradient mesh this way so it doesn't make any sense that it does not work on a freeform gradient.

Hi Everyone,
Can you please provide a screenshot or step-by-step details of what you are trying to do. I ask because it’s working fine for me (see attached screenshot; it’s quite possible that I misinterpreted what you are trying to achieve). Could it be that the negative offset you are applying is greater than the size of the object. In that case, it won’t work. Otherwise it should.

Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

Egor Chistyakov:
The option missing is an input for angle. Right now you have to do it manually and there is also no way to hold down shift to lock it at 45 degrees.
