Hi Everyone,
Thanks for this feedback. This has been avialble since June 2020 release (version 24.2). Now, when you’ll select a single object/group, Align To setting will default to Align To Artboard.

The Deleting preferences James mentioned is what worked for me. Tried it on 2 different machines. Found it online tho instead of looking in here. Its always a good idea to do this when you update to a new version of AI.

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

1. This should be inside of Illustrator. If you also want to add to XD, whatever, but it belongs inside of AI.
2. Horizontal, Vertical, angular (arc distance etc..)
3. Click once, click again.. it adds dimensions.. click a third time it adds the new dimension from point 2-3.. click again.. 3-4 etc..
4. Also, cumulative. Click once click again.. adds dims, click a third time, it adds from 1-3.. click again.. adds from 1-4 etc..An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous

As a bonus, we need to be able to set "preferred" line weights, fonts, spacing of dimensions away from copy, etc.. Must be able to make these preferences with a spot color as well as cmyk or rgb.

totally agree.. SPOT colors should be included!! exact colors of item under eyedropper. this would include cmyk values when overprinting spots.. we use spots combined with gradients all the time and we need to know where colors break.. this should already be included for a program that started in 1987!!! Thats 31 years and we still dont have a stable full functional program.

The eyedropper tool should show you exactly what is under it.. If i have an image over a spot color thats darkened, the eyedropper should report back all color values.. C, M, Y, K and Spot percentages..

Angi, just updated today as well.. both template and nonprinting are showing italic. Something else must be wrong. works here. on all machines..

This has been missing since the beginning.. seems like such a basic option. .you can sheer, scale, even trapezoid but not freely. this needs to be added

Hi,
If you want to switch the older control panel you can do that in 2 ways:
1. Go to Window > Control and the control panel will be shown.
2. Go to Workspaces and switch to Essential Classic, this will also show the Control panel on the top.Thanks & Regards

I think we just need the ability to customize the properties panel.. add whatever we want and arrange the order as we want.. This way each of us who have different ways of working and different project types can all work the way we want.

and why it doesnt do this already is beyond me.. Im working with files where we have hundreds of links in them but only 12 or so individual files. this would be awesome to implement.

You can align to an object you choose to be the key one.. Click the object you want to use as a key the second time and Ai will use a bolder edge to highlight it.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the feedback. The color yellow has been removed altogether as a layer color, and has been replaced by Magenta color for Layer 5. This functionality is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.

light colors like that should NEVER be in the list of auto created layer colors... we should still be able to select if we want...
