Hi Everyone, This feature has been available since August 2020 release (version 24.3). Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html Thank you for all the feedback.

You can now select multiple layers in Layers panel. Click the bars (they get highlighted blue) if you want to operate layers and not their content (e.g. to drag to reorder) or click their markers to select their content — circle (target ones) or square (selection ones) next to them. There is no real difference which to pick, but if you want to select a range of layers, using Shift, use target markers.

The original post appears to be correct. I am trying to use Version 23.0.3 with GPU Performance Enabled and turning off rulers does appear to boost performance/response time in Illustrator. Currently I am bouncing between 23.0.3 and the latest 2018 version of Illustrator to deal with ongoing performance issues of software.

It’s dangerous to call things Smart... When they behave dumb, the name sound like an insult. Sadly, this is the case.

Please provide more specific cases, with video proofs, ask you colleagues to share and vote, to move this further. This is the way to force changes to things that are broken — be vocal and persistent. Thank you all and let’s hope we get heard.

I would change "COMPLETED", as a I feel Smart Guides are still clunky. Smart Guides haven't been the same since around CS2. Having to hold Command for improved accuracy was always an odd addition too.

    Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused,Please let me if the issue still persists. You can try changing the UI scaling in preference panel to small as suggested by frank.

On October 20th, 2018 Ankit from the Illustrator team noted this issue was reproducible but there hasn't been any update/fix. Can we receive an ETA on a possible fix for this issue, or confirm if the tool can be reverted to the 2018 version this month?

    Additional System Info:

    macOS Mohave Version 10.14
    iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
Processor 4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16 GB (1867 MHz DDR3)
    Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M395 2048 MB

I was just about to post this exact issue. Is there a preferences file we can possibly trash to resolve this? Or is it broken no matter what? Currently the Direction Selection Tool fails to snap the text anchor/node to another object's corner/node once the text is dragged to snap to it (with Smart Guides on).

My only workaround is using the standard regular Selection Tool right now, which is not exactly ideal.

The latest update appears to have resolved the memory issue failing to display documents. To me the performance seems to have taken a hit as a result of this latest update, but I'll continue to monitor this.

It also appears that opening older documents and creating new documents are now all defaulting to "Emulate Adobe Illustrator 6.0". Does this now need to be setup in Bridge?

At the top the Color Settings currently reads: "Unsynchronized". I'm not sure if this is the reason for Illustrator acting up now. I have tried to change the Color Settings in Illustrator but the setting resets itself.

Thanks for the reply Rama. My Color Settings were somehow set to: "Emulate Adobe® Illustrator® 6.0"

I changed this back to "North America General Purpose 2" and the appearance of black appears to be back to the way it was before the upgrade. I'm assuming the software update caused this change. Thanks for the solution.
