This issue is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta 30.3.126 build.
Kindly update (or install) to verify the fix making it behave as expected, to allow the team to safely push it into the next general build.

Seems to work fine in the latest general build 30.0
Please test it and comment back if you have any problems with it.

84 votesAccording to Abhishek Rao here, disabling 'Export in Background' in Preferences > File Handling helps to workaround the problem (until the actual fix). Make sure you enable 'Art Optimized (Supersampling)' as an anti-aliasing option in Export for Screens settings as well.

This problem is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta Build 30.5.0.18. You can update and test if it’s truly gone.
However, please not there are some known issues with this particular build:
- Opening recent files from Home Screen Recent section is not working (opening recent files from File > Open Recent Files works fine).
- Generative Expand does not open its own HUD when used after Generate Vector, Generative Shape Fill, or Sketch to Vector. Instead, the previous tool's HUD is displayed and Generative Expand remains inaccessible. Workaround: Ungroup the generative content first, then apply Generative Expand.
- Half of Astute Graphics plugins can’t get loaded. Both teams are now aware of the problem.

An error occurred while saving the comment The issue was fixed in Illustrator 2024 and worked fine in version 28.7.2. However, it is broken again in Illustrator 2025, including version 29.3.1, where Illustrator keeps crashing.

We have added this support in Illustrator v30.2.1

With the v29.2, Illustrator now allows you to export into Ai and EPS format via the export for screen dialogue.
You will also have the ability to fine-tune the these documents through the advance settings.

There is a problem when the Include SVG Code option is enabled. If this option is not enabled, there is no problem.
