Hi Everyone,
We have fixed this bug in our latest release – v 24.2.1 which is available worldwide now. Thanks for your patience on this.
Please note that after upgrading you might still see that Align To sets itself to Align to Key Object. If you see this, please manually set the Align To to the required setting, and this reported bug will not happen again. You’ll need to this one time only.
The reason Align To might get set to Key Object after update is because Ai remembers your last Align To on subsequent launches as well. So, if your last Align To was Key Object before quitting/upgrading, after first multi-selection, it will set itself to Key Object. After you manually change it one-time, it will work fine.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commented@James Allen: have you updated to v24.2.1 yet? that has fixed the issue for me.
@Varun: thanks for getting on this fairly quickly. It was pretty annoying, and I combed through all the settings and preferences to find a way to turn it off, not realizing it was a bug.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedIt would be nice if the top half of the Find Fonts dialog box could also change height when you resize the box. It only show 5 fonts, and then they're not even in alphabetical order, so it's impossible to find the font you might want to change all instances to. Two screen shots attached: the first is the dialog box when it opens, the second is after I've resized it, but I cannot resize the list at the top...

Illustrator TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThat happens to me too. Same OS and Illustrator version.
The "workaround" is to click off in any browser and then click back in Illy and it should go back to the selection tool. I haven't had a chance to try that out yet. One of my coworkers told me that, but I wonder if it's just click outside Illustrator and doesn't have to be a browser window.
Anyway, I feel your pain. Hopefully they will get it worked out.
seconded and thirded. Very annoying. I know where to find it when I need it.
