This fix is included in Illustrator v29.8.2.
If you reopen files that were not saved while the font change issue was present, the problem should no longer occur.
Please let us know if you continue to experience the issue in any new files created with v29.8.2.

As of now, we are also seeing several issue on Mac OS 26 developer Beta builds. We are working towards identifying them and fixing at our end (or work with Apple to get them fixed at their end).

An error occurred while saving the comment Is this happening with each file or some particular ones? If happening with few files only, is it possible to share any such file? And, is this a new behavior - after any (possible) Illustrator update?

I am from Illustrator team and tried this at my end. I do not see the issue encountered by you. So, this might due to the color themes available in your library. You mentioned your are seeing this issue in release build and beta build.
Can you create a small library with 3-4 such themes and do an export of that library to share the .cclibs file here?

222 votesThis issue has been fixed in 29.2 release. Please update your Illustrator to latest version through Creative Cloud Desktop.
An error occurred while saving the comment All - you need to have latest Illustrator (Beta) app installed from Beta Apps section in Creative Cloud Desktop to try the fix done.

We have been able to resolve the issue. You should not be running into this issue. Please do a relaunch or two to refresh the application.

We released a new version today - 3.0.1 and we are now supporting eyedropper shortcut.
