  1. Automatically move to input box when selecting a transform option

    This would improve workflow by allowing users to not have to click on the input box when transforming a layer. It actually used to be a feature but was removed for reasons I'm not aware of.

  2. Bounding box not visible / non-existent for Graphs

    The bounding box is non-existent for graphs drawn in illustrator. Have tried turning on/off "hide edges" under view, restarting, shutting down, but nothing is working. Scaling tool is useless too as the bounding box remains invisible.

  4. Typesetting formulas, mathematical equations and symbols in LaTeX-style

    When typesetting mathematical formulas, LaTeX is the way to go and is the standard in many scientific areas. But a problem arises when mathematical symbols should be used in figures. If these figures are e.g. created in Illustrator, it is always a bit inconvenient to include the symbols in the figure. It is e.g. necessary to render the symbols separately and include them as EPS files in Illustrator or the symbols are added later to the figure by another program.

    It would be really cool to have a build-in feature in Illustrator which would allow direct typesetting in the common…

  5. Include warp envelope anchors and handles in preference setting

    When using the warp tool and envelope distort, the anchors and handles are too small and difficult to target. I think it would make sense to have these obey the same preference as the general anchors and handles.

  6. Allow calligraphic strokes for default fill/stroke

    I regularly use a calligraphic stroke in my work. It would be good if a calligraphic stroke could be applied to the default fill/stroke settings via the Graphic Styles panel. This would save a lot of time in my daily workflow.

  7. Prevent "Align paragraph" from moving the text from its position

    It's by far the thing that annoys me the most about Illustrator;
    when you have your point text already positioned you need it to be aligned to a side and when you press the "align" button in the paragraph options the text moves and aligns to its previous center.
    It's a complete time-waster!

  8. Draw with paintbrushes as if you were really drawing!

    For example, some of the brushes when drawing appear as a purple pathway first before turning into a line from the brush you have chosen. This can ve very frustration if you are using for example the water colour brushes. You should also have a circle radius around the pointer before drawing that enables us to see the size of the brush as you can on some features in photoshop. This would be very helpful to artists to see the size of the brush they are using and the brush lines you have chosen to appear instantly as if it…

  9. Masks should be applied to single objects with a simple right click

    Masks should be applied to single objects with a simple right click. It's so cumbersome (and quite frankly, very outdated principle) to have to create a white object, select two objects, then 'create mask'. No one does this anymore. (look at Sketch)

    We should be able to simply right click on an object and set it as a mask. Then anything that is above that mask or in that mask's group layer, should be masked out.

    Which brings me to another point, layers in illustrator are so bad. Why for the love, has the layer structure not been updated since…

  10. Stop nag windows

    Provide the option to stop nag windows appearing - offering to take a tour of Illustrator, or to use the new tools instead of the old ones. I already use most of the new tools, but I would like to occasionally use some of the old ones without being reminded that other options exist. Especially after the 200th time...

  12. Artboard-specific Layers

    When working with multiple artboards, it would be very helpful to have artboard-specific layers displayed on the Layers panel as opposed to one long blob of all layers from all artboards.

  13. Collapse unfolded actions

    When actions is played, they got unfolded.
    If you have a lot of actions (not in button mode), you'll have to collapse them by hand, each one.

    So I propose this:
    1. Make 'Collapse all' command in palette menu
    2. Make option 'Don't unfold actions when played'

    And why there is no context menu for Actions Palette?

  15. Curvature tool continuation tolerance

    I work quite zoomed in, and when drawing close to an existing path with the curvature tool, it often picks up the end of the existing path and continues drawing from it. I'd love to be able to select the tolerance for this behaviour, so I can be more precise.

    Currently I have to draw my intended path somewhere else, and move it to its intended location, or switch to the pen tool, which it more accurate.

  19. Circles in Illustrator are not accurate

    The circles in Illustrator are flawed and here's why.
    I discovered a major bug in Illustrator CC. The circles in Illustrator are not accurate. This is the case regardless of whether you use the ellipse tool or the arc tool. Make a circle. Check the dimensions to make sure it's accurate. Draw a radius line at 0º. Copy it 3 times and rotate the copies 90º,180º and 270º.   20. Easier access to typekit options

    I noticed that the link to the external typekit web app is no longer in the type (character) tool box. I see how the whole mechanism to search is more integrated but its still harder to scroll through font weights, type custom sample text etc. I just think there could be a link to the external web app right there in the tool box still even with the updated integration so you have the option to search differently. I see that you can still get to that web app but it feel more clunky for my work flow than it…
