Create a ISE file system for Gradient management (ASE for AI only)
create the possibility to export gradients as lib !
I understand why ASE does not work with gradients (while it could be the case if ASE would accept more than one value per swatch but whatever..)
I'd be nice to create ISE fileformat for example (ASE for AI only) to be able to have an actual gradient lib file.

Pixel Perfect - alignment with equal distribution e.g. Artboard alignment
When exporting out artwork for app icons, the dimensions have to be precise. 256 x 257 isn't going to work downstream and you have to adjust and export out again - wasting time.
If an art board bounds is not pixel perfect aligned the exported graphics can be one pixel out. So it becomes necessary to align both content and art boards.
One could argue that if an art board has a defined integer dimension, then it should be guaranteed to be exactly that dimension. Which could be a bug.

Remember User preference for Responsive SVG / SVGZ
We often need SVG and SVGZ that are NOT responsive to the web area (we need to control the viewable font size for psychometrics purposes).
Illustrator default switches to Responsive being checked after every Illustrator restart. It would be great if every time I restart Illustrator the check box for "Responsive" remembered that I want it UNchecked (our workaround is to create a new SVGZ file immediately after every restart and uncheck the Responsive box, and if we don't remember to do that task our work must be tediously re-exported).

Illustrator to Mobile
Mobile - We need a way to be able to open ai.files (or different formats from illustrator) and edit them in a mobile app.
e.g.: Right now I will need to change the background of a design everyday. In Illustrator it's easy, all I need to do is change background color export and voila.
However, if I can't find a solution to edit the background layer (or rectangle on top of it) on mobile. . . Adobe draw doesn't allow me to open ai.files or edit layer by layer. Can't really find a solution.

Library doesn't fully sync out of Capture
I was told to put my concerns and ideas here although my frustration is mostly with libraries and the capture app capture is super cool for all of its features but the app was created specifically so that you could use those features and the library Assets in other programs my library assets won't save past about 200 and I've already created thousands, inc fun brushes i want to share, teach, but cant save or recreate so now I'm stuck. it's a cool app you should support it better and fix the glitches: export doesn't work, libraries don't work completely…

Import plt (hpgl) files
I want to import plt files directly in Illustrator.
Today I have to use an online converter or import the plt file using Front Design or even CorelDraw.
This file (.plt) is generated by the Audaces program.
No even the dxf file exported by Audaces is imported by Illustrator. The Illustrator only import the code instead.4 votes -
More exporting options, without disgusting failures, even mini files in size cannot be saved at more than 300 PPI , irrespective sys config.
Please try to limit error messages first, as it is very disgusting, then with high end systems in hand, illustrator commonly fails at exporting, even the tiny sized files not being exported with high resolutions i.e., more than 300 PPI specified as "other"

New Tool Idea: "Drag Draw"
I've developed a novel way of drawing vector shapes using a delayed "drag point" method which at first seems counter-intuitive, but is actually closer to the way people draw with pens and brushes, because the drawing point is distanced from the moving point by a controlled amount (as if drawing with a chain), smoothing out the resulting line. My working demo was built in Javascript and can be observed in the attached video, but would be much more powerful within Illustrator and Photoshop. Allow dragging multiple selected layers from one file to another
Allow dragging multiple selected layers from one Illustrator file to another (as in Photoshop) w/o exporting them or needing to depend on Paste Remember Layers, but let the drag behavior drop the layered artwork into the other file with a Paste in Place feature.

artwork over canvas isolation toggle
Toggle function that changes the view between showing all artwork in a drawing, and only showing everything that is actually over the canvas. basically, a quick and easy toggle to see what an exported pdf would look like. Exactly like the toggle built into InDesign (toggled by "w").

Ability to convert Freeform Mesh to Gradient Mesh
The ability to convert a freeform mesh to a gradient mesh is sorely needed. I love creating a gradient with Freefrom Mesh, it's a lot more user friendly but it is a lot more heave on the system, especially when you start having multiple objects. The ability to convert a Freeform Mesh to a Gradient Mesh should be a standard feature. Analysing the colours as it does from an image but creating a more contoured mesh as it does by default with a vector.
Gradient mesh is less heavy on the system and more universally accessible say for exporting…

Disappering file info
When exporting document from Illustrator by ”Save for Web (legacy)...” File info just disappear from final document. That is quite annoying because I'll have to fill all fields once again.

.DXF compound shape support
Illustrator doesn't seem to support exporting compound shapes in a .DXF file. Corel does so it must be possible. This lack of support means that you cannot have text in a DXF file.

Unnecessary rectangles upon embedding from the Library
After embedding an object from the library, it appears a transparent outline around the object itself. This creates issues while exporting in DWG for instance, but also in the drawing modification in Illustrator, as we have to remove manually this outline object by object

Remove round corner minimum angle limit
Please allow for round corner angle threshold control via Preferences. The very common issue I have all the time is being unable to round corners with angles smaller than some hardcoded threshold.
Not a big issue rally on simple trivial geometry where you can workaround by manually constructing the round corner. But in my field I have to constantly deal with large complex paths needing all corners rounded regardless of angle.
I always have to resort to exporting geometry to SVG, rounding corners in Corel or Affinity which don't have the said minimal angle limit, import back to AI…

import splines from 3D
Exporting for 3D as splines requires Illustrator 8 format
It would be great to have a set of controls, a palette of parameters, or an automated 'wizard' walk-through of selections to control how vector lines translate as splines.
Similarly, toolset for importing splines would be cool
Including: Bezier, Cubic, Uniform, etc point interpolation
