Unify point tangent, angle\length\direction
Short rationales:
Point Angle - I need a way to control the exact angle of point handles to unify them across a design. Currently the only way to control the angle is to constrain it to vertical, horizontal, or 45 degree angles.Point Handle Length\Direction - If you grab a point handle and make it a different length or direction than the handle on the other side of a point, there is currently no way to re-unify them besides re-drawing the curve.

Adjust Artboard to image
When opening a pixel image in Ai (to add vector details), Ai does not set the Artboard size to the boundaries of the image. Would be nice when it does.

Show Contentpreview in hidden layers
When you hide a layer, the contentpreview in the little square in the Layers Panel is hidden. Finding a specific layer is terrible when it’s hidden (you only see the layers name).
That makes absolutely no sense to me and has no benefit that I can think of, to the contrary.
Please make it at least an option, or just make the Layerpreview always visible. I can see that it’s hidden when I see the eye canceled on the right, no need for more indication that its hidden.

"Move to Layer" in right-click menu
I would love to be able to skip the Layers tab on the fly and right-click an object to move it to any layer in the document. It seems like it would make the most sense for this to live in Arrange? Ideally, the layer list would include colored bullets to match layer labels. This would be a huge time-saver for me.

When exporting the saving dialogue doesn't take you to the source location
When exporting, the saving dialogue doesn't take you to the source location which used to be the case. It takes you to Downloads instead which is not convenient for file organization.

Automatisches Textfeld, das sich an den Text anpasst
Bei Infografiken werden kurze Texte oft mit farbigen Flächen hinterlegt. Cool wäre eine Funktion in Illustrator, welche einen Textblock oder eine Textzeile automatisch mit so einer Fläche hinterlegt. Optional könnte man Farbe, Eckenradius, Transparenz, Grösse (über den Text hinaus) usw. bestimmen.

Wand tool selects text
I often need to change the color of multiple objects at once and using universal swatches is not an option (several artboards using the same swatches need to be changed to different colors). The wand tool is perfect for this except that it completely ignores live text. Even using select > same > fill color doesn't capture everything (maybe a bug). Including text when using the wand tool seems like a no brainer. It would be really useful for selecting text of the same size, weight, font, and other parameters as well.
2 votesRecent versions of Illustrator have the dedicated Select Same submenu for text objects, specifically Select > Same > Text Fill Color.
This still won’t work properly if your text objects have complex appearance (a separate fill over characters counts as an object-level fill), but works for most cases.
Magic Wand though indeed ignores text objects completely. If you still want it to be able to do so, please vote and comment. There are some questions to be solved for that, like 'what should the wand do, if a clicked text characters of different colors mixed'?

Allow me to change filename and file size dimensions with "Export as..." option
I can no longer save my file with it's filename when exporting an artboard for client review. I would like to be able to have control over the naming of the file and the dimensions I export to (especially when building out billboard art files). If there was an option that showed file size and dimensions like in the previous "Save to Web" that would be optimal

Convert a Type on Path object to a Point Type text and a normal Path (Detach / Release Text from Path)
If you accidently select a path with the typing tool and save it without undoing it, there's no easy way to change it back to a normal path. You have to use the direct select arrow and click on all segments of the path, then copy and paste it, then join. You cant even click and drag to select all segments. Could there be an easier way to turn this back into a normal path?

The property bar can be made better.
I am a designer from Russia and I am delighted with the "properties" panel. The idea of making the panel universal is fascinating. I see the future of Ai in the fact that the program itself will open the necessary settings, depending on the selected object. Unfortunately, the "properties" panel is far from ideal, but I am sure that it is the future. My idea is this. This panel cannot be used by beginners, so the explanations are meaningless. I think all explanations should be removed, and functions should be replaced with buttons. Then, perhaps, this panel will fit everything…

Option to auto-sharp an anchor point when using the pen tool.
By default when making a anchor point with the pen tool it gives you a curve anchor(2 direction handles). I request that we have the option to make it a sharp anchor(1 direction handle).
Currently in order to make a sharp anchor you have to go back and select the anchor again. This is a slow method if you only draw in sharp anchors. By having this new option it will be lot faster and easier to draw in this style.
3 votesYou can do that by holding Alt right after you click the first point with the Pen tool and releasing it after you finish dragging the handle out. This creates legitimate corner point with one hadle.

Keyboard shortcut to invoke the search box under the Help menu
I swear there used to be a keyboard shortcut to do this. Given the relative complexity of Illustrator, I rely on search to locate less frequently performed actions. I currently navigate by mouse up to the Help menu (which automatically gives the Search field focus), where I type in the first few characters of the action I wish to perform (results are refined as I type in more characters); this way, I can simply select the action I want right from the Help menu. It would be great if I could forego the mouse entirely and invoke that Help menu…
1 voteYou definitely can assign a hotkey for Discover, using Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, in Menu Commands.
The problem though it’s named as 'Illustrator Help' there, not 'Discover'. By default it uses F1.

Do the 'Effects menu' as the After Effect's
Why don't you make the AI effects menu as practical as the AE's menu? It is much easier to type in what do you want.

Make Adobe Stock Images and Vectors avialable to earlier versions of the app.
Remember there are a lot of people that use Creative Cloud but are limited by the equipment they are using. The latest version of Illustrator I can use on my computer is 2019 and when I try to save or open a vector from Adobe stock I am informed that I need the latest version to continue. This is not possible. If you wish to offer free images/vectors make sure they are free and accessible to other versions other than the latest. Please do not increase user frustration by misleading what is available.
